Ok, now i really gotta know.

On what basis do admins pick man of the day?

Most of the time, the man of the day either has some sweet pictures and a barren profile, or a lengthy well written profile AND good pics or some variation of pics and profile. But today's?

I'll admit, he is actually quite hot, and with a sick bod and a mustache that stirs my...well whatever, it stirs, but he's only got three pics and his profile is a bunch of links....or some other indecipherable net jargon.

    1 buddy
    2 hotlisted

I'm not criticizing this man's profile, far from it. I'm just wondering what about today's Man of the Day caught the eye of the admins.

You know what, I think it was the mustache.
Im a big fan of staches and I gotta say, his is a clear winner.
Its gettin me pretty hot and bothered.
With a stache like that....he can be man of the year.

Perhaps a non-human chooses the man of the day.

I wish RJ would put a link to an explanation so every newbie didnt have to start a thread like this.

I strongly suspect that it is done by a random number generator and selection doesnt mean a damn thing....but they wont tell you that.

I think it's pretty random. I don't think they have a criteria, to be honest. I did email the Customer Service email once to suggest someone, and they were selected a day or two later. So, if someone wants to do that for me, feel free. icon_wink.gif

(Sorry, I was being somewhat tongue in cheek about the being suggested as a Man of the Day. I'm sure it'll happen if and when it's meant to happen.)

Being Man of the Day really isn't all it's built up to be. The only privileges are getting an undesirable amount of messages flooding your inbox to notify you of buddy lists, hot list adds, and unlocked pictures from people who probably should have thrown away the key a long time ago. Not to mention the messages asking to be your "best friend" from people who seem to never have learned to read or write in their younger years. So, from a first hand point of view, don't get your hopes or expectations up about what MOTD means. I'd much rather do without..

Let me lay this thread to rest by saying this...being as how Sedative is the Overlord of the entire universe, he is the one who picks MOTD. So keep checking your "those who have recently viewed me" box. If Sedative is one of them, you're more than likely to become MOTD. icon_wink.gif

    Cas, ItMoons is no noob

I dont know why you tell me that. I didnt call him a noob

"Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own."

    Thanks, Cas. I guess I'm a newb about newbs and noobs/n00bs. I'm just glad that I'm not a n00b.

What would I ever do without you?

That was a rhetorical question, Cas. I think I can imagine how you'd answer. ;-)

The RJ moderators are nebulous about how the choice is made but my guess is that is random other than they have to have profile pix and text.

    Hahahhaha

I did not start this thread in hopes to be chosen as man of the day, nor do I have any real desire to be one. I enjoy living on the outskirts of the bustling realjock community.

I guess i didnt consider that it was randomly generated, that makes more sense.

The members of RJ should be the ones to pic man of the day and not the admin.

And men of the day should be participating in the forums.

I wholeheartedly agree Mike. They should participate in forums and maybe even join in on public chat (assuming they're not just pervy -- not that there's anything wrong with that).

HAHAHHAH you are so obsessed that one characteristic that you don't leave room for so many other ones.... I read on this site somewhere that man of the day was randomly chosen out of those with a profile picture and description.
