You and I are both loving it. Soon, their only competition will be my (formerly) beloved Astros...

    Isn't it nice?! :-)

I'm sorry this topic ended up in All Things Gay forum. I was in the Baseball forum when I added it, so I don't know how it got here!

    No. They are gone. Kaput!

If only the Red Sox can fall on some hard times between now and the end of the season, and MY RAYS can get things back on track after a not-so-good road trip out west.....the guys from Tampa Bay will be looking great for another division championship.

No, they're gone for this season barring a comeback like baseball has never seen. Would be exciting, though.

And on my Mets, have to acknowledge the season stats superiority of the Yankees. There's just no argument. But we can wish and enjoy the Mets' good results when they come.

All the Mets need to do is take a page out of the Tampa Bay Rays playbook and build the minor league system into a powerhouse with great starting pitching. The Rays went from a laughingstock also ran in 2008 to Division Champions in 2009 with the pitching coming together and introducing the world to Evan Longoria. We have only continued to improve and get better in the years since. The Mets can do this too.

When we were kids and went to Shea to see the Mets (we didn't know then that later in life we'd discover when we met and got together that we had a past!) that was a strategy then. Forty years later, and it's still a possibility, however improbable. Would love to see it happen.

    Yanks win again!
The Met's need a miracle like Gary Cartericon_idea.gif

They will never come close to the number of World Series wins the Yankees have and will have in the future.icon_idea.gif

Notre Dame won a lot of football games under Knute Rockne too, and now they aure are a force to recon with. Not. The sun sets on the Roman Empire every so often, and it set with the death of Steinbrenner. The A's changed everything with Money Ball, and the code has been cracked. Having all the money in the sultan's bank account is broken, you can't buy it any more. Ichiro, really...The savior? Seriously. Take him out of Seattle where the Salmon is fresh, and he's like a black hole.

There's no joy in Mudville, as the Mighty Mike struck out.
