Now i dont agree with Faux News on anything but i saw this and some are complaining. Diversity Day welcoming our Air Force on their turf and inviting them to march in our pride events and come on their own to our drag bars is one thing but is this going too far, too much to ask, too soon?

By looking at the photos, the drag show at the base didnt go over too well with all those empty chairs, I think this 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' in your face for those not ready and too soon after the end of DADT was in bad taste especially on their own turf. I probably would have cringed myself.

hmmmmm, I think i know the guy sitting front row in Red shirt, i see a couple uniformed personnel, now if anyone started giving dollar bills to the performers, that would be totally foreign to me as a base commander icon_confused.gif

No, LAAFB hosted a diversity day with booths, games..etc that basically included all groups.. black, hispanic, asian, indian, women and gays. I guess the gays thought a drag performance would be appropriate to showcase our culture, glad they didnt pick the leather Folsom crowd, that might have made more people upset icon_lol.gif, but sorry, No sex, that I know of.

maybe the sista's would have drawn more of a crowd instead of Momma

    or at least

OR this would have a mixed gay straight crowd

The whole non-story appears to have been manufactured by the communications arm of the Republican Party (aka Fox News).

Then why was it posted here?

I'm not suggesting the event itself didn't take place. The 'outrage sparked among some airmen', however, appears to comprise a quote from one unnamed and apparently un-outraged airman.

i've seen good drag shows and bad drag shows. looking at how the performers were made up, well, that's just terrifying to say the least. then again, clowns scare the shit out of me. icon_eek.gif

What's the strong message? They don't like drag shows?

It was probably a bad idea, by someone who meant well.

I'm sure they'd have got a better turnout if they'd booked a girl dance group to strut their stuff under the American flag, but that wasn't the point really.

I thought I had. I wouldn't have gone to see it either, but nobody died (with the possible exception of that drag act), so what's the big deal?

Ah, what a trashy gem of a show. I forgot how amazing the transformations could be. I should start watching it again.
