I have it a four or five hours before and 45 minutes before working out. So twice a day 5-6 grams total.

I've always been told 5 grams daily, ideally a half hour or so before a workout---as long as it's before and not after, so it adds the endurance. I don't like the granules much, but it's easy to mix it in a small single serving of no-sugar added apple sauce.
I've tried looking at chewables and capsules, but you have to take a lot to reach 5 grams, and they're way too expensive. The Vitamin Shoppe has a very reasonable price on the large tub, which will last forever.

Is creatine really all that great to use though? Don't you only need to use it for several weeks and then stop and then start again and repeat? I think I heard that somewhere before.

definitely give your body a break. I hear creatine is hard on the liver over prolonged periods.

The creatine effects on the body are absolutely true. You normally go all out (12 weeks/5-6 grams when you workout) then rest the body a month or two from creatine but just take protein powder so you still get a bit of a boost.

    Personally what I do is

1 Protein Shake 2hrs before my workout - maybe a light snack of fruit or cheese

4-5 grams of NO XPlod 30 before my workout. (scoop and a quarter maybe)

Water during my workout - no sugary drinks - we arent running marathons - its an hour 30 workout...

Protein shake DIRECTLY (if possible) after workout - but certainly within 30 minutes

    Meal after 30 - normally chicken/rice/veggies

...but I am not hardcore or anything...
