What if one is gay and disagrees with you on certain issues? Does one then become an outcast? Not that I mind, of course, I value my free speech rights more than fitting in with lemmings.

I've found my gay community in my cousins, some friends, and some of my professors. Not everyone in the community is super nice or friendly. I mean, we're bound to have some sour pusses out there...

No, that doesn't make them an outcast. We're all in the same boat. Some people say that being gay is everything, and some say it's just a small part of who they are. Either way, it's something we all have in common that we're born with, that we can't live without, or erase, or forget, and we'll share it until the day we die. The reason it matters is because the haters who hate one of us hate all of us.

Generally a useless term. The gay 'community' is filled with harsh criticisms false hopes and unreal expectations. And great sex!!! icon_wink.gif

Have you ever managed a single post without insulting someone? Just curious.

Do you expect anything less. Whiners gonna whine, and whiny Republican is whiny.

Blakes, perhaps it would have been better to ask HottJoe if 'and our allies' meant straight people who believe in equality for gays before putting up your dukes. *eye twinkle*

I assume most gays even "out" gays are first of all individuals, even if there's pressure from within or without to conform to a particular cloning group (and its respective erotic/pornographic reference; viz., bears, twinks, Folsom, etc.)

I think it's just a term/state of mind to describe a group of people based on their sexual orientation created by the media/straight people and other gays and their allies. If you think about it, the real world is just like High school. Everyone belongs to a certain *Clique.... and once you try to cross-over to the other clique, some people accept and some don't. I think it's neat to have a gay community really, I know that it's there and I can ask for help but I do need to do things on my own. Lol, I didn't even know Orange County has a gay pride/community but they do, I went to it yesterday in downtown Santa Ana between the Mexican/Latinos area and several-Asian communities! Lol, I love diversity and the gays. Yeah, even OC is getting liberal now that the whole prop 8 is over-turned.

It could only be interpreted as insulting by someone who actually KNOWS he's a lemming!! icon_razz.gificon_razz.gif

This is changing rapidly in our favor. Do we want to alienate others, or continue our progress by making friends with them? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.

In my opinion its everyone who is gay and who supports gay lifestyle and rights. However, I think many times it is mistaken for the club scene which bothers me. The club scene is the same in gay or straight communities, so to define a gay community or scene by only the club scene is not really an accurate representation.

Then you are a putz. And I mean that in the nicest possible way.

I'll choose to take that as a compliment, because as a gay man I really like putz. And schmuck, but not too crazy about schmechel.

The gay community is that group of guys who are always arguing, bickering, fighting, and fucking each other.

WELCOME! Once you've joined the Gay Community you will never have another worry.

For instance, if you can't pay your rent, let us know.
We'll put on a show and raise all the money you need.

The Gay Community works kinda like old fashioned communism but with really fabulous costumes and choreography.

The downside is all the rehearsals but that's how we meet each other.
