No, but I was waiting for this question. I've been against wasteful spending like the above article reports since I first started paying attention to current events, which was the early 1990s, when Clinton was in office. Clinton travelled everywhere, fundraising and constantly campaigning, and Obama has followed in his footsteps. He travels to make appearances that could easily be done from the White House, and has played over 100 golf games. Does anyone know if Bush did a fraction of this? And please don't cite some far left ragsite. Obama promised change, and I haven't seen any at all.

By the way, with his lavish lifestyle and wealth, couldn't he spare a dime for his half brother in Kenya who lives in a grass hut?? Of course not, because he's only lavish and generous with OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY.

It may be cheaper in the long run . I think a few hundred million in vacations could save the country alot more. Politically there isnt much he can anyway.

Should we mention the 77 trips taken to Crawford Ranch in the 8 years alone for President Bush or the 149 visits to Camp David.

"President's dog has it's own military helicopter."

Really you are bad as an ultra left wing article when it comes to accuracy.

When you take a flight is that plane known afterwards as your own plane?

You think wasteful, or even apparently wasteful use of a military helicopter is acceptable? And shouldn't ever be questioned? We are allowed to do that in this country.

Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt (FDR) also had to deal with false Republican charges about his own dog's travel during WWII:

My dog stays home or travels WITH me, not in his own multi-million dollar military helicopter, which has more important uses. And, as stated earlier, we are allowed to question apparent waste of taxpayer money. He's a temporarily elected executive, not a king.

In other words, RealJock conservatives like all Republicans reveal themselves to be serially dishonest petty scandalmongerers who whine, cry, and complain about everything this administration does. The sky is falling for them for issues as big as the IRS and as small as the President's dog -- that's why the GOP party of histrionic whiners can't win an election.

Yes, I seem to recall contemporary criticism that GW Bush was the most "vacationed" President in history, spending the least time in the West Wing.

Well in his obsessive, dishonest & irrational hatred of everything Obama I'd agree the similarities are striking.

    Uh oh...

"During Bush’s two terms, the cost of operating Air Force One ranged from $56,800 to $68,000 an hour. Bush used Air Force One 77 times to go to his ranch in Crawford, TX. Using the low end cost of $56,800, Its calculated that each trip to Crawford cost taxpayers $259,687 each time, and $20 million total for Bush’s ranch flights.
If cost of the flight was the only expense involved to taxpayers Bush’s vacations would still seem rather economical, but there is more, much more. Unlike the Obama’s $4 million Christmas vacation price tag, which includes the cost of everything from transportation to accommodations for the First Family, the White House staff, and the White House press corps, Bush’s numbers only include the cost of flying the president to Crawford. The cost of transporting and accommodating staff, media, friends and family is not included in Bush’s vacation numbers."

Much of Bush's time at Crawford can be described as working vacations. He regularly participated in video conferences, hosted heads of state, etc. By doing that he established a personal rapport with many world leaders that current president does not have. BTW what is your obsession always bring up Bush whenever anything negative about Obama is discussed? Economic times are worse now. During much of Bush's term unemployment rate was low.

Uhhh socal, I didn't bring it up. Other posters did so I supplied info.

There's an old saying that people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. If you're going to accuse the Prez you don't like of one thing, then you'd better make sure the one you like didn't do the same.

I also suggest you read the article in full before you join Blakes in going too far.

They are making fun of Rupaul, someone who has given much to the LGBT community.
But of course like many privileged individuals, they see nothing about attacking one of their own.

Not making fun of Rupaul. TA yes, due to his nonstop vitriol and hate
