    German Evangelical Protestants have made good on a pledge to marry non-heterosexual couples, holding their first religious same-sex marriage over the weekend

    I initially misread the title of the thread and thought these were "evangelicals" in the more typical sense (i.e.: a charismatic church).

    Good on them.

    I came out to a German Evangelical Protestant in my Theology program here at Durham. He's likely going to be a minister or a theology professor in Germany. He was fine with my being gay.

    This news does surprise me a bit, but given my personal experience perhaps I shouldn't be as surprised.
