Is it just me or is there really so much discrimination within the so-called gay community?

I just find it quite disturbing how many gay men tend to be so blunt about how they think black or Asian, or over-sized people are just drop dead ugly.

Like tonight I'm browsing on some gay dating sites and I read this really disgusting comment someone made "no **some nationality*** please. It's something I see a lot in some people of specific races.
And then there's the sexual racism like blacks have well hung packages, Asians are have small penis and they are all feminine bottoms.

It's incredibly rude and dehumanizing to be objectified like that.
And then all these gay guys who just want to jump your ass and won't be friends with you if they don't think you are hot!
Sometimes I just don't wanna be any part of that superficial world.

Perhaps not you, but where you live. I see little discrimination here where I live. In fact, isn't the gay community in Qatar illegal, and underground? If so, I don't see how your question has much relevance & application for many other RJ members.

Or are you describing the online virtual world? That's hardly representative of the gay community at large, either. So again, your question may lack broader gay community relevance.

OK, show me any community where there is not some discrimination among them. There are people like that in every community. It doesn't make it right, it's just what it is.

Until there's a technology that allows you to punch people through the internet, idiots will continue to say/do things online that they normally wouldn't say/do in person.

Well, you wrote "browning" in your originally post and I don't think that word is very politically correct either icon_razz.gif

    Reflection of larger American society.

All of us - gay, straight, whatever - have been affected by how society treats and portrays race. It affects how we view each other, even in the realm of sex/dating.

Also, like someone just mentioned, people are way more brave and crude on the Internet.

Example: Back recently as the year 2000 there were sex clubs in LA (about 3 of them) that didn't allow any minorities in. The city had them closed eventually once they found that out. They would say "there's a private party tonight". Then a white friend would go to the counter and they would let him in...until he blasted them with his mind.

Wow. That's disappointing. Do you remember the names of the clubs?
