Thinking about removing the hair from my chest to see how it looks. What's the best way, shave, wax, depilatory cream? What works best for you? I want to avoid ending up with a chest full of ingrown hairs and zits.

I do it all the time. Shave. If you have fur clip it first. It'll clean up better

If you are very hairy, I would suggest nair. The hair just washes right off ... Just make sure to read and follow the directions

to shave or not to shave - shave. Nothing like being up and close to a smooth body. Suggest you use the safety razor and finish off with a skin conditioner

If you have à lot of body hair maybe you would be better trimming it. It gives a nice, cleaner, groomed look without the hassle (foliculitis, spots, ingrowns) of hair regrowth.

Plus i would say that men who are into smooth guys want them naturally smooth, others won't mind groomed body hair, so all the aftercare needed to maintain à smooth look may not be worth the bother (shaved, depiled or waxed skin never looks like naturally smooth skin)

Waxing provides the smoothest skin, but it takes quite some practice (and some guys find it painful).

Depilatory creams provide the best result second to waxing, but they stink and some skins cannot stand the chemical in it. Do à patch test first.

Shaving makes you smooth for about one hour icon_biggrin.gif and your skin will feel like hedgehog spikes on the next day.

If you shave or wax, apply chlorexidine right before and right after shaving/waxing to prevent red spots/foliculitis... you might also want to use a body scrub and a body lotion daily (one containing about 5% urea or 1% salicylic acid would work best) to avoid ingrown hair.

I prefer waxing than shaving. If you just want to see what it looks like, shave but it will itch like hell. Wax when you can. Although, trimming works as well - neat and tidy.

i'd suggest waxing instead of shaving. i never shaved my chest but i tried waxing one time. shaving makes the hair grow thicker whereas waxing makes it thinner.

I was curious and shaved last summer just to see what I look like without a hairy chest. Shaving isn't a problem if you know what you are doing and your skin isn't too sensitive. I had few problems that way. Kind of interesting.

I have great chest hair and always have viewed it as an asset, but just curious. I decided, I'd rather keep the hair, but just trimmed. I'd encourage you... always kind of fun to see what you look like with and without.

false myth. It's been studied. hair growth is not effected by removal. it's about how you like to remove it and how it feels after, not regrowth

Ive never realised until now how pushy and aggressive the non-shavers are.

    Good grief!

Nothing like snuggling up to a man who shaved his chest & abs about 3 days before, who's skin now resembles a 600 grit sheet of sandpaper.

    What a "boner-killer:!

I used to shave my chest but it always itched so much the next day and sometimes I even get ingrown hairs. Now, I just let it out and maybe do the occasional trim icon_smile.gif

Naturally hairy men with untouched body fur are sexy as hell! I 've gone soft from encountering bald cocks and balls, besides just looking wrong, when the hair grows back the needle like stabbing prevents enjoyable body contact.

Seems like there is a pretty even split on whether you should. But if you do go smooth, be sure to post some after pics! icon_cool.gif
