WHEN A SOAP BUBBLE BURSTS, IT CAN BE FUN TO WATCH. WHEN A BALLOON POPS, SOME PEOPLE LAUGH, AND SOME PEOPLE JUMP IN SURPRISE. IF YOU'VE EVERY HEARD A BASKETBALL BURST, YOU KNOW HOW LOUD THAT SOUNDS. IMAGINE THE PRESSURE NEEDED TO BURST A BALL OF LEAD, THEN THINK ABOUT THE DAMAGE THE SHOCK WAVE WOULD DO YOU ANYTHING NEARBY.

IMHO CONGRESS, WITH ITS BAILOUT STRATEGY TO THIS CURRENT ECONOMIC TREND, IS ONLY INCREASING THE PRESSURE NEEDED TO FOR THE INEVITABLE ECONOMIC BALLOON BURST THAT IS ON IT'S WAY, AND THE ACCOMPANYING DAMAGE TO THE ECONOMY THAT WILL RESULT. MOST OF THE CURRENT ISSUES ARE DIRECTLY RESULTING FROM GOVERNMENT RULES AND REGULATIONS (FOM THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION AND BEFORE.

THOSE THAT CONTINUE TO LOOK THROUGH THE PEEPHOLE THAT IS BUSH BASHING ARE ONLY ALLOWING THE EQUALLY GUILTY DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS, INCLUDING YOUR BELOVED OBAMA, TO CONTINUE THE FRAUDULENT PATH.

THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT CAN BE HAPPY RIGHT NOW ARE THOSE THAT THRIVE ON BE GOVERNMENT. UNLESS YOU ARE ON PUBLIC ASSISTANCE OR WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT YOU BETTER BE READY A AN EVEN WORSE ECONOMY FOR YEARS TO COME.

BASH BUSH IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER, BUT IT WILL NEVER SOLVE THE PROBLEMS,

    Word to the disaffected....

GET YOUR CAPS LOCK BUTTON FIXED !
It doesn't make anymore sense whether it's in caps or not

And how dear boy can I explain this to you without saying what a complete thieving incompetent idiot our soon to be booted out on his ass President is

    It's harder but I'll try
You see .... the republican mantra for the part 30 years has been for less regulation and for tax cuts to the wealthiest of us and to Corporations
We are now seeing the culmination of this philosophy and its coming crashing down on our heads
So put a bunch of Tulips on Ronnie's grave and thank him for the stock market in free fall
and for the millions upon millions of jobs that have been sent overseas
and for the gov't that can't even get it together to help people after a catastrophe

Why is it that the ardent Republicans on this site tend to rant, and yell? The caps lock may have been a mistake, or this person may have been trying to make a point, but I can't accept that he didn't know that this is equivalent to standing on a pulpit and screaming, bug eyed, with sweat and spittle spewing all over the place.

Bush is a screaming incompetent. He's led the country into financial troubled waters, he's gotten us involved illegally in one war (Iraq) through construed WMD., he's shown that he is totally unable to think on his feet. And he can't speak a coherent English sentence.

PBS had a special on Queen Elizabeth on this past week. Part of this program showed the visit of the Queen to the White House. Listening to George and Laura Bush talk about this was an embarassment. At least the First Lady is not the leader of this country....but listening to George W. speak was like listening to someone who did not make it out of high school english classes.

I feel like a pall has lifted.

These anti-intellectual ingrates, these people who reject scientific inquiry, logical and structured thinking, and who use ranting language and thoughtless slogans like the OP to substitute for reasoned debate....thank God almighty, we are shortly to be free at last!!!!!

Funny that someone so incompetent was elected twice.

And in typical democrat fashion, all you're doing is calling people that don't agree with you an idiot, claiming that the originator of this thread is on a tirade.

It's true that things are horrible. Calling fellow countrymen idiots isn't going to help. Bashing Bush isn't going to help. Hopefully Obama can.

However...Obama is pushing for more of these bailouts. This is awful business practice, and anyone with half a brain, republican, libertarian, democrat, or otherwise, knows this.

So, oh wise ones, you missed the whole point the originator of this thread tried to convey.

Everyone believes their political opinions are strong and valid. To an opposing side, yeah, it might seem like a tirade. Just remember that you sound just as ignorant and preachy as the next guy.

    alleykatt,

Thanks for you're failed assumptions. I oppose the bailouts. I don't even like the one that passed.

I didn't call anyone an idiot. No one was called an idiot except Bush. All I did was use Aquanerd's words against him in attempt to call out the lack of comprehension and explanation of his own post. As a matter of fact, his post is nothing but a personal attack on Democrats in general, Obama, and those on welfare or have government paid jobs. As my name suggests, I am a government paid employee. I protect your right to assume falsely.

I wasn't directing that at you.

You hadn't even posted anything until after I started writing my post.

I don't care that you support Obama or that you are democrat. I believe in balance. Often too idealistic, I believe that people's opinions aren't reason enough to hate them, stop speaking to them, or call them names of any sort.

I suspect the psychology behind my thoughts is that I once told some faggot who was all into me that I leaned right, knowing that he was a die hard democrat, but thinking two young adults could have a lot to talk about politically. He went into some sort of rage, said he could never speak to me again, and that he hoped the republicans gassed me with the good stuff so I didn't suffer after supporting them.

All that is why today I try not to make assumptions, I don't give a rat's ass about what others think or believe, and I don't give a rat's ass about what others think of me.

And furthermore, I wasn't trying to offend anyone. I don't like to offend people, but if my opinion does, I'm not going to apologize for it.

No, of course. No one would ever accuse you of trying to offend anyone at all. You're a paragon of civility.

    I rest my case.

He wasn't ... But it says more about those who LEAN more right then don't it ?
'cause we here on the left sure had that asshole pegged from the get go

So, oh wise ones, you missed the whole point the originator of this thread tried to convey.

The problem with the "originator's" comment was that it was lost somewhere in his partisanship
I'm assuming...and I'm assuming because it's so veiled that I can be wrong
is that he is stating that the bailout is a democratic plan and that it's leading us in the wrong direction

    Newsflash
The republican led administration at least the last time I checked initiated this bailout plan
and at first wanted to hand out this money WITHOUT any special provisions
    remember???
The democrats were the ones to place some provisions .. but not enough on these handouts
Barack Obama is not backing these plans either
He is calling for a ground up approach which will increase job opportunities while it tries to keep present mortgage holders in their homes
He has been backing a plan to open up infrastructure developement
You Have Noticed that our infrastructure is falling into shit.. haven't you?
another waste product of the republican rule
He has been backing plans to extend the unemployment insurance
and trying to find ways to unravel the tied up mortgage investments so banks and mortgage holders can negotiate with people who are behind in their payments

...And who was it that secretly suspended a law in order to push a multi-billion dollar bailout to banks?

    BUSH!!!

SUPPORT BUSH IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER, BUT IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACTS NOR SOLVES THE PROBLEMS.

Can somebody on RJ please explain to me what the gist of this RJ member's forum topic was? I sort of lost the plot halfway through.

I personally believe the housing bubble has already burst soaking many sections of the economy with toxic fluid that will make the economic downturn far worse than the last two recessions. I am not convinced an economic stimulus package will do much good until consumers dig themselves out of the debt hole they managed to get themselves into.

The rest of the developed world is also going into a bad recession which means the demand for goods and services that the US exports will drop making the recession worse.

If housing prices in the USA continue to go down then the economic rebound will be postponed into the next decade.
