Interesting on a nnumber of counts - not least a finding that international law protects rights of gay men.

    This is fantastic news.

And Metta8, you are the gay incarnation of a Cuban cigar factory reader...

Today's picture was taken in 1909 in a Tampa, Florida cigar factory. The man sitting on the chair is the "reader". He would sit and read to the workers all day long. The workers chipped in to pay him, and they got to choose what he would read each day.

MA COURT DECLARES EVANGELICAL PASTOR LIVELY MUST STAND TRIAL FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

Isn't this headline, pasted from the linked article, incorrect? It is not a Massachusetts court, which would have no jurisdiction over issues of international crimes against humanity, but a US FEDERAL court convening within Massachusetts. The State of Massachusetts isn't involved in this action.

But the individual being brought to trial, Scott Lively, is a resident of that State.

I have no expectation this will proceed much beyond this initial symbolic action, and will soon be ended in a Federal appeals court. Still, it's nice to see Pastor Lively made uncomfortable, and continued attention brought on him, along with the members of the US political Right who have defended his anti-gay crusade.
