Kepler Planet Hunting Telescope Being Retired

    Well I guess all of the NASA projects can't last forever.

    Nasa is retiring the Kepler space telescope from planet-hunting because its pointing system is no longer fully functional.

    This makes me sad. I'm rather surprised hat it went dead so quickly, when Hubble has been up there for 20 years. Admittedly, we've upgraded and made repairs to Hubble, but I feel like it goes for longer in between service missions than Kepler lasted.
