    This sounds so James Bond!

Samsung may be the latest company to leap into the emerging field of "smart," or Web-connected wristwatches. The company is planning to announce a new smartphone device that's worn on the wrist in September, according to a Bloomberg news report. No word on whether it might come in multiple colors, like the Samsung Galaxy Note phone.

These guys have had all the buzz, lately:

Me, I am wondering why smartwatches are going this way in the first place.

These ones are add-ons for your phone, so that you can keep it in your pocket. Nice. But what I'd really want is a watch that replaces my phone, connecting on its own to the network and allowing me to tether my tablets, laptops, and other devices to it, meanwhile allowing me to use BlueTooth for phone functionality.

Something like this, without the frustration. That's what Apple should do.

Yes, that would be very nice to not have that phone clunking around in your pockets. Only have a phone that's a slave to the wrist phone if you want a big screen; sort of a mini tablet, or have a real tablet that's tethered to the wrist phone.

They probably can't shrink the radio for the cell phone part enough. Yet.

    Boring, another GoogWatch.

Side by side to the iWatch, it will suck.

Then there's Google Glass. That's one I really don't get.

Of course; everyone knows that everything made by Apple is far superior to everything else. icon_rolleyes.gif
