Do u believe in luck? I was playing a slot machine. 20 or 30 spins in & a guy comes up & plays the machine to my right & 2 spins in & he hits for $2000. And of course guess what song was playing in the casino?! ---Daft Punk's Get Lucky!.....I never have any luck when it comes to gambling.....Other than gambling, are u lucky in other aspects of ur life? Do u feel lucky when it comes to finding love or making friends easily or landing a good job? Is it all just taking a chance & luck of the draw or are u just good at playing the cards ur dealt with & u just have a lot of happy-go-lucky days where u just happen to be in the right place at the right time?.....

"They say that those who are lucky in life,
who are rich, healthy, and don’t have the usual
problems, are often bad and weak. From this, you
see why a person needs to make an effort in life
to overcome obstacles. We should not complain
about our difficulties but surmount them."
    -Tolstoy

Luck is very bad thing in general, or the idea of it, it often gives false hope. desire for it can even make you lazy.
It only makes people envious. One cannot gain anything through envy except pain, sadness and misery to themselves and to those whom they're envious.

As Tolstoy said, we should not complain, but work hard to overcome it.

BTW, gambling is a very bad business, it survives only on by giving false hope to thousands by making a couple of guys instant rich. It's pure unethical business & I suggest you or anyone to stop it.

Yeah, right! & look at how that kind of attitude is affecting our world. It is costing the world a lot.
The constant desire for luck and prosperity is making them even more greedy.
When people are greedy, they tend to become aggressive. You can't fail to notice that it's very natural for someone to comment on Chinese,(especially the govt. & corporate) as 'aggressive'.
I know that the concept of Luck and prosperity is very deeply rooted into Chinese culture, but as any culture has its pros and cons, this is one of the latter.

Culturally I don't know the exact reason why Chinese wish others luck and prosperity, perhaps with the idea of speaking 'may the happiness be with you', perhaps the present China lost its real meaning and using it more literally.
Especially by the political reforms that are taking place for the last 100 years or more. I think, who knows!

Because of China's industrialization, it's become the most polluted country---it's cities & rivers---in the world.....

One thing I've learned in all my years of practicing gratitude is to appreciate synchronisty so that you can see and learn the opportunities God's extravagant grand plan has brought to your attention, if you fantasize about sexy secret admirers being behind it you can also expect five star accomidations.

No, not really at all. I mean i've accomplished a lot and have done well for my age. But overall you'd think I had some shitty ass karma.

    Soooo lucky.

...born in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, to two college-educated parents, white, and male.

I don't believe in luck. I believe in coincidence and being able to recognize opportunities when they arrive. I'm working on getting better to take advantage of career and friendship opportunities. I'm really good at spotting love opportunities.

Honestly, I think it's best to live your life as if luck doesn't exist, as if you have complete responsibility for all the situations you find yourself in, while still acknowledging in the back of your mind that it's not actually true.

I've I've noticed this too. A lot of people who complain about luck don't see the hard work a lot of lucky people do and use it as an excuse to not work hard themselves.

But those people are largely harmless, or even helpless. Much more pernicious, IMO are the countless people who mistake their good fortune for hard work.

One time I was in a gay bar in Reno called Tronix and a guy let me pick some numbers on his machine, whether it was the Holy Spirit in me or the machine I'm not sure but the guy split the winnings with me 50/50 for the drawn four Keno numbers.

Most coincidental thing that ever happened to me: I played the 6 numbers of a fortune cookie slip back when Pennsylvania had Super 7 Jackpot drawings. 5 of the numbers on the fortune slip came out! I thought I won something big but I only ended up winning $72. I think I was gypped where I handed in the ticket.....
