    This is just too funny:

outsportsI was wondering how Russia would handle Cuban triple Mabel Gay at the IAAF Track & Field World Championships in Moscow this week. While so many are focused on the Winter Olympics six months from now, events like this will test how far Russia will go to squash any shred of gayness.

While I have no idea if Mabel Gay is in fact gay or not, she posed an interesting potential dilemma for the Russians. All competitors wear their last name on their "bib" on the front of their uniform when they compete. In trying to shield children from anything gay, would they somehow try to cover her last name?

Nope. Mabel Gay proudly wore her name on her uniform when she competed in the triple jump qualifiers today. She finished eighth in the qualifier -- with a jump of 14.17m -- and will compete in the finals on Thursday where she will again proudly wear her name.

I wonder if any athletes would consider changing their last name legally to "gay" to showcase their support at the Olympic Games....

I'm pretty sure gay is spelled differently in Russian.

I really don't see the story here if her last name is Gay. They'd be looking too much into it if they wanted to censor her name. She's not the only one with a last or first name by the name of, Gay.

It is supposed to be funny...jeez. The irony here is that this "anti-gay propaganda" Russian law defies all logic in order to "protect" children from anything "gay" yet they are logical enough to understand that someone's last name should not be changed on their uniforms even if the word "gay" is in it.

Why am I even explaining this. You guys suck.

That was pretty damn funny. I'd totally change my last name to "gay" if I were competing. It's an interesting advocacy tactic for sure.

And not only that, but with a different alphabet altogether as well. Here is what it would look like in Russian for the word gay as in homosexual:

    голубой

    or

    гей

Russian people will probably not even notice nor comprehend any relation to gays.

Just like I dont notice or comprehend any relation between you and logic.

That's not how you spell GAY in Russian. Both the A & Y are backwards. Instead, GAY is spelled GAY.

You act like an imbecilic child. You'll be thirty years old soon. It's time to grow up and stop deriving pleasure from these sophomoric explotis.

A little less time tinkering with your iPhone and electronics and a lot more work developing your interpersonal skills, please.... Cuz, babe. You really need it...

Maybe you should be the father figure for the site.
