    Hey Guys,

I've been thinking about updating my cellphone and have been encouraged toward the Samsung Skyrocket S4, which sounds good, then I have a friend that all over the Iphone. Just wanted to hear thoughts. I know everybody probably has their personal favorite.

You know, these things are so intricate and complicated these days that I wouldn't jump ship from one system to another unless I had a lot of time to burn, re-learning how to fly it. Also I have significant amounts invested in some specialized apps.

Anyhow, I still can't think of any reason to upgrade my 3-year old iphone. Unless I drop it over the side of the boat or something. Not aware of any "killer apps" that require the newest thing.

Stick with whichever platform you're currently on if it's Android or Iphone. Otherwise go with Android; Iphone market share has been steadily dropping.

What are you using now? And what is your reason for wanting a new phone?

I've been an android user since like 2009, had my first Samsung Galaxy S (1st version) then I switched to LG Mytouch! I had a couple months left on contract with TMobile! I like that new LG Optimus L9 and either the Samsung Galaxy 3 or 4. I can't justify spending about $400-$500 for a phone though, so I currently like the LG L9 phone, retail about $225? Yeah, Iphone to me is like so foreign and complicated to use, I'll stick to my android phones.

sorry, but I think the S4 is just to big--constantly laughing at people who have one; might as well, carry a tablet around with you.

I'm ambidextrous. I have both, an Android LG Optima, and an iPhone 4S. They each have their distinct advantages, so when I decided a second number was necessary (for business purposes), I figured it would be fun to have the best of both worlds!

    iPhone 5 (me)
    iPhone 4S (husband)

Next iPhone update when it arrives in a month or 2 will replace his 4S.

We've had good results with the iPhones. Lovely integration with our iMacs and iPads, all auto-syncing through iCloud to share contact, calendar and reminder info. We're not heavy business users, but I do have over 100 apps that do the most remarkable things.

And the iPhone is the only phone that's been able to stand up to my husband's rough handling (although I do put his in an Otter Box case). I've never had an Apple product fail in 30 years of continuous ownership, and our iPhones are no exception, these being the 3rd and 4th ones we've had.

Kinda similar to me too. Galaxy S3 is my main phone. Picked up a Nokia Lumia 521 as a second phone for work. Windows Phone is interesting. Has nice aesthetics.. cool animations and visual cues. Has quite a few cool features. And a few annoying ones.

Overall not bad. But desperately needs more quality apps. I think it's a good phone for someone that uses a phone for mostly talking, but occasionally needs smartphone related things.

Razer2. It died on me a few weeks ago. Had it for 9 years. When it died, it was a sad sad day. I'll be getting a new phone in a month or so. Dunno what type I'll get.

I'm an old, cheap bastard. I have a basic texting phone that cost me $30. Get a discount for service through my employer and my monthly cell bill is around $40. Works for me. I have an iPod touch but rarely carry it when I'm out and about.

Motorola Droid Razr HD. My third Motorola Droid, had an X and an X2, and this may be my last. While it's fast, it's been more than a little 'buggy' and some things that were so simple to do (like checking voicemail) are a chore with this phone. I'm going to stick with Android, but as happy as everyone seems to be with Samsung's offerings, that may be the direction I'll go when this contract is up.

iPhones have better quality, better software/support, better security, better apps and better resale value. Wait a month a get the next iPhone5S.
