I'm not talking about exercise in general. I'm wondering how much time people spend literally weight-lifting, or weight training etc. per week. On the current routine I'm following (German Volume Training style) I am weight lifting for only about 4 hours a week. I am happy with the results and work so far.. Definitely adding muscle mass, so I think that seems to be sufficient for now.

    So how about you guys?

ED. Note: I'm inquiring about this for kind of general knowlege.. looking to see how much time some guys who are in great shape really dedicate to WORKING OUT. I've got the healthy eating, the rest, etc. etc., but I'm having trouble pin-pointing how much lifting works for me, so just want to start to develop an idea of how many hours OTHER guys spend with weights.

About an hour a day five days a week actually lifting. Plus about another 15 minutes warming up and 30 minutes or so stretching after so I'm actually in the gym about 10 hours/week.

I currently only do two nights of working out per week, about 90 minutes per session, mostly weights. But i've been doing it for 10+ years and currently i'm happy to just maintain what I have.

    Let the non-constructive posting begin!

Yes I know that I can view your profile and see you spend 6 hours and 15 minutes working out and 1 hour and 15 minutes of cardio per week. My intent is to start a conversion (shock horror!) about time spent lifting vs returns, what other people with varied body types find effective, how much people think is TOO much time.. Etc.

I read a workout blog recently which said something along the lines that 5 or so hours of weight lifting per week was relatively on the higher end, and also mentioned how much more time per week we spend sleeping, eating etc. Just got me interested in discussing it further.

Yes I could go to your profile and send you a private message, but you're going to troll my pictures and chose to responded based on whether or not you want to stick it in me. Approaching the public means I'll get responses from people who find the topic interesting and have something constructive to add.

And also: this is a GAY website so we can count on the fact that most people are exaggerating their statistics or That they're completely inaccurate.

This for me, too. Sometimes a sixth or even seventh day but usually that results in over-training. Wish I could do more but the body won't let me.

4-6 hours a week. Once the muscle has been worked to failure there's no use in continuing to work it. You'll just overtrain that way.

I usually workout 6 days a week. Workouts take around an hour so at least 6 hours total for the week.

45 minutes to 1 hour, 6 days a week for me. I would say if you're getting good results from what you're doing now, stick with it. That's your base mark and if you want, you can start experimenting and see if bringing the time up or down gives you better gains.

65-75 min, normally 4 times a week given my schedule. This includes set rest time though.

Twice a week, probably should be doing more. But I am fitting it in my schedule as best as I can for right now.
