I just found out today that I got a job with the DC Fire Department and will be starting next week. I currently live in Las Vegas and will be driving out to DC later this week. I am in need of a short term place to live until I figure something out in the long run. Can anyone help me please!

I will get there/Andrews MD in like two weeks but will be out in that area. If I found out any details I will send them your way if you want.

Wow! I can't believe the DCFD is only giving you a week to move cross country. Good luck!

Try putting an ad in Craigslist. I was in dire need of a place in the OC for grad school next week and got a place hours within posting an ad, and I'm posting from there this very second!

Clock is ticking and I still don't have a place. I won't be bringing any furniture. Ive been browsing craigslist like crazy but people wont answer. Do you think it's because I disclose that I'm gay?

Housing I think is sort of a problem in the area. I know when I went looking for an apartment it was pretty hard finding what I was looking for. Because housing is so expensive, rentals fill up fast.

Maybe try expanding your search area? I'm out near Dulles airport so that probably wouldn't help you much.

Possibly? Do another ad that doesnt mention and see what you get. I would let you stay with me if you joined the Philly or Camden FDs ;)
