What's up with the amount of users on this site who are seemingly active, but use photos they found on the Internet or elsewhere?

Some of these people have been members for over 3 years. Kind of creepy.

I guess until the actual person's whose photo it is, complains, the admins don't do anything about it ... the admins seem to be subjectively selective in what they allow and don't allow

I just can't help but laugh when I see a person's photo with 50 comments saying, "OMG YOU'RE SO HOT AND RIPPED!", I Google it, and it's like a shot from a Sean Cody movieicon_razz.gif

Not that there aren't a couple, but did you consider the RJ member is the one who's photos have been taken to be used on the other sites?
I'm flattered, finding mine being used by a straight guy on a dating site.

Yeah, the same thing has been done with mine. I've seen them on a Tumblr blog here and there. But what I'm referring to is when they use famous porn stars' or fitness models'.

I'm always amused by these "WTF; fake profiles on RJ!?!?!?!?!!!"

    This cartoon is from 1993.

It's not too hard to photoshop your verification pic

I was very friendly for a while with someone who had a verified profile and it turned out to be fake - at least I assume that it was fake. I had asked him why some of his pictures were Photoshopped and he never wrote to me again. He also made a post the next day mocking people who fall in love with pictures on the internet.

    I'll be the Devil's advocate.

How does someone having a fake RJ profile directly adversely affect you?

A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone they're not using Facebook or other social media to create false identities, particularly to pursue deceptive online romances

I'm gonna use this guys pic, because I know that after 6 months more of working out, I'll look just like him anyway and it'll just save me updating my photo later. icon_lol.gif

    Got it; thanks.

Even so, your wording in the previous message confused me; perhaps clearer would be, "People with fake profiles like to catfish other people."

    I should rephrase my question;

How does someone having a fake RJ profile directly adversely affect you if you're not using RJ for meeting guys/romance/hookups?

(Edited: fixed jargon used in question.)

Romantic intentions doesn't necessarily mean hook up. And I'm just informing.. I don't have this problem with people who do this. I stop talking as soon as they give me some lame excuse for talking on cam, meeting, sharing numbers, etc..

Maybe the OP is using the site to find a relationship, and everyone he's been talking to have been fake profiles.. people who like to catfish. That would be pretty harmful if you were to fall for that crap

Few weeks ago someone with 1 private pic was asking me personal questions because "he doesn't like assumptions" and when I told him I'll answer those questions only if I can see who I'm chatting with.. He sends me a faceless pic of a 3D model.. icon_rolleyes.gif *-ignooore-*

I saw what was probably the same one the other day. Confronted him but never heard back. We should start a forum to post fake 'users'.
