I have a kitten that's about 5 months old. This little fur ball is a handful though! She bounces off the walls, attacks your leg as you walk by, and knocks over everything on my desk.

I'm wondering if she is part feral cat even though my dad said he got her from a shop. Is there anyway to train a kitten? Does anyone have experience why hyperactive cats?

I would not get a second cat. It's totally random as to whether or not the first cat will accept the new cat. If you get the wrong side of the coin then they'll fight and hate each other for the rest of their lives. I made that mistake.

Don't play rough with her; that reinforces the behavior. Get lots of toys and fake mice for her. Get one of those carpet covered "trees" for her to climb. It could just be adolescence.

You mean to tell me that you could have been posting videos of you (one of the most delicious men here) and a cute little kitty?.....and you didn't?

    I feel betrayed.

I want a full blown calendar delivered to my doorstep tomorrow and I might consider forgiving you......

Whoops well that ship has sailed. It's so fun to play rough with her but you are probably right.

We do have lots of toys for her however.

She's a kitten, that's it. They come as a little fur ball full of energy and funny as hell to watch and play with. She'll slow down and mellow as she ages and eventually you'll find her curled up on the window sill or back of the chair in the sun.

Enjoy her energy now, especially if it makes you laugh! I love kittens except for those really sharp claws….ouchhhhhh!

I have 2 cats (along with 3 dogs). The male cat is not friendly at all. He use to attack you at random. He has gotten a little nicer but he mostly likes to hang outside. He bullies the neighbors cat. Our female we found in our garage. She use to come around and let you pet her but something happened(we think my dad did something while we weren't there). Now she hides upstairs in our attic all day. She comes out at night and she won't let you go near her or she'll run away.

I like my dogs much better.

If she's indoor only it probably would be a good idea to get her used to having her claws clipped. I used the dog clippers, the guillotine style ones. But the scissor style will work as well no doubt. You'll need to start by wrapping her in a towel with just one foot outside it and clip only one nail. She may shred you and the towel in the process. Do one nail a day and she'll start to accept it and you can move up to more than one as time goes by. It'll probably be months before she stops growling while you're doing it.

Forgot to add; be sure and only clip the tip. Don't get the quick which you can see in the nail because there's a nerve and blood vessel in there and that would be a big mistake.

Also don't use the grinder type of nail trimmers. The buzzing and vibration freaks them out.

Lots of toys! Especially string ones that will tire her out. In time she will calm down and you will miss it. If she lets you touch her she is not feral.

I'm not a cat expert, but if cats are anything like dogs this is pretty normal. My dog was hyperactive as a puppy and she turned out to be a wonderful dog. She is probably like that because of her age. They start to settle down as they get older.

Your pussy is a feral cat if it does not warm up to you in your lap or let you near to her.

Yes, you can train cats. You can even leash train them if you start now.

Your cat's full of energy and would benefit from some play time. Some cats like chasing laser pointers, some go after small balls, or you could try a cat "fishing line" (a wand with a string attached to it).
You can train her to stop scratching you, too.

My cat was feral and he bonded with me. I used to take him for walks with a leash and harness. He would meow when I called.
