Hey ... I posted this earlier and the admin deleted it ... maybe because I added the guy pic

"TWO of the three boys who allegedly shot dead Melbourne baseballer Chris Lane in Oklahoma have been charged with first-degree murder.

James Edwards, 15, and Chancey Luna, 16, were charged with first degree murder and face life in prison if convicted.

Michael Jones, 17, was charged with using a vehicle to facilitate the discharge of a weapon and accessory after the fact of murder in the first degree."

from another site ... but I won't post it, you can search on it ... otherwise the Admin will probably delete it again

As cynical as it sounds, this is the price of admission for living in the US. Running the risk of getting shot is probably the highest on the planet. But Americans have a right to their guns.

Right, and to kill anybody we want, because this is the Wild West.

I seriously doubt the teens were license to carry a gun ... you don't need a gun to kill someone if you want .. you can use a knife or machinate like they do in other countries. Blaming it on the right to bare arms is sort of like blaming teenage pregnancy or abortion on the free availability of condoms.

Mexico has stricter gun laws then the US and where has it helped them? 60,000 people have been killed by the cartels in the last 6 years.

Nope. If guns were not readily available everywhere, to own or to steal or to borrow, these things wouldn't happen with the frequency they do.

Coincidentally, I was just about to post that story.
You know what got me the most? The part where the mother said "If my teen killed anybody, he'll be punished."
    Something like that.
    The story is sickening.

And just how do you propose to get the guns out of the hands of people? The same way we stop drugs from coming across the border? The same way we stop illegal drug labs in the country? And when China or Russia or some nation of radical islam decides to invade our country because the people have no way of defending themselves will you us a pocket knife to hold them back? Will you stop them the same way you stop bomber from building bombs from fertilizer or pressure cookers?

note to america, just for the sake of variety, can we hire some other sort of ethnicity shoot a couple people. another 6 months of reporting on black vs. white, and gun control is getting really annoying.

How about a nice pacific islander slays a mongolian or something.

It's frightening to think that you could be shot just because someone is bored.

I'm thinking it is a voice of sarcasam ... I can't imagine being so glib over the murder of a young man that did nothing more then jog down the wrong street ... here the drive-bys usually happen at night .... such a shame ... I can't help but place some of the blame on the parents of the kids that committed the murder ... too many people have kids that shouldn't

you don't think that there's people out here that will kill you for absolutely no reason?

All I said was to wait until later and listen to more of their reasoning.

Just because you know how to have sex doesn't mean you automatically know how to raise kids ... too bad they don't hold parents accountable along with the kids that commit such heinous crimes

Unfortunately, it is true, there are a lot of people out there that don't give a crap about another human life and will kill someone for no reason at all it goes on all the time all over the country. Joggers are prime targets. If you are going to jog, don't jog on seclude roads or paths. You better of jogging down a busy street or around a school track.

It doesn't. My earlier comment was that the parents should also be held accountable for their kids actions. It is their job to raise them with a value system that respects others.

Oh fab, as soon as the gun nuts have to admit that maybe the second amendment has something to do with all the shootings, they throw up their hands in despair, claiming that nothing can be done. It's too difficult, can't be done, don't even try, all those guns might come in handy someday, give up.

i BET if you were a parent, you wouldn't be saying that.

you can try your hardest to give your kids everything and raise them to be productive citizens and still have them come out to be fucking messes. sad but true. some people are destined to be criminals, murderers, rapists, thieves, drug addicts, junkies and etc. that's just how it is.

At 15, 16, and 17 they are the responsibility of the parent ... period. After they turn 18, yes you have no control over what they do. A 15 year old kid shouldn't even be out riding around with older kids. I'll bet you anything the parents had no clue as to where their kids were and I'll bet they never did. There are people everywhere in this country that raise their kids on the street, they come home when ever. Half the time they don't even know where they have been for a week.

at 15 years old, i'm 100% SURE you did things that your parents wouldn't want you to do and you would get in trouble for if they caught you. you did it BEHIND their backs without them knowing and you didn't tell them either so you did whatever you could to hid the evidence? so tell me why should YOUR mother and/or father be blamed for something that you did and knowingly chose to do when they told you NOT to.

your parent wasn't sitting in the classroom with you in school because they couldn't. you had to make choices on your own and they HOPED that you would do the things that they would want you to do depending on how they raised you.

sometimes, the influences from our peers which is peer pressure overweighs what we learned from our parents. we did things that we wouldn't do if our parents were around WHEN we're around our friends. some of us got drunk, did drugs and etc with our friends. is THAT our parents fault though? they can't be with us EVERYWHERE we go.

i understand if the kids were abused or were raised a certain way by a parent to be violent and etc. okay, then that argument of the parent being held responsible would make SENSE but then again, we have the parents that bust their ass and raise their kids to be decent citizens and human beings only for their kids to come out to be monsters. so due to that, we can't really go by that principle.

at 15 I wasn't allowed to be out on the streets. Anywhere I went had to be approved. I was driven to school and picked up after school. There is really no excuse for parents not performing the job of a parent. If they don't have time, then don't have kids.

People should be responsible for themselves and that includes teenagers. To say if I killed somebody and my parents were held somewhat responsible, that sounds illogical. Unless you had a clear case for the parents causing abuse and insanity to the kid, there isn't much of a debate.

blkapollo saidto me, it's not frightening but things like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. our culture from way back when has been based off entirely of violence. it's embedded in us. we learn in school that this country has been in wars, being violent towards others, and even dropped nuclear weapons to cause genocides of entire populations and then are told that it is NORMAL under the same breath. so of course, when you're spoonfed this shit as a kid constantly from the classroom. turn on the tv and see the same shit, see that it's happening outthere were other people are being violent again. you produce a bunch of warped monsters that think that think violence is okay and have no regard for a human life.

to me, it's not frightening but things like this doesn't even surprise me anymore. our culture from way back when has been based off entirely of violence....

And I'm blasted for saying this in another thread....

I'd do well not to post in this thread. haha
