I was reading this article and was shocked a 20 year old can weight this much.

When do we as a society, see someone too big and tell them enough?

WoW! 610 Kilos is a lot...can't imagine how much do he has to eat daily.

On onside of the worlds there are more than 2 billion people who are starving & on the other side more than a billion people who are suffering with overweight.
It is just not right :/

I'm surprised he's still alive. His size would put so much strain on his heart that it'll eventually stop.

I couldn't care less. Some people just blatantly give in.

I don't understand how the parents/friends/family members sit and watch this happen.

The drawbacks of wealthy having slaves to attend to their every need ... notice the guy holding an umbrella over his royal fat ass.

As a society? I don't know. But stuff like this is where the parents should intervene rather than enable.

Whoa... I didn't know that was physically possible. I mean, I'm surprised he is still alive.

I honestly don't know because I try to never judge someone..

I think that would qualify as too big. When a person has noticeable issues with mobility and health, then that's when they are too big.

So they had to take him into the plane through the cargo door? Maybe he should have spent more time going up and down some stairs. Seriously - this morbid obesity didn't just happen overnight. Neither he - nor anybody else put a stop to it while he was packing it on over the years.

I wonder what insurance company allows his fat ass to be lifted out of a building with a forklift and drove to the hospital with a semi!?

OP do you know what insurance company he has?

How do you tell someone what to do? Addicts are very resourceful and manipulative. At least 1 person was enabling him, if not more, and if they hadn't he would have found someone else.

Its funny how harsh some of the comments are (not the OP) and I wonder if you'd say that about a drug addict killing themselves. This guy is undoubtedly very unhappy and knows his life will end far earlier than it should.

I remember when I was depressed. Kind of like him -- I resorted to harming myself and coping in a destructive manner. It wasn't me who initiated/caused the depression. I couldn't help the fact that I was bullied for so long.

As much as I wanted to self-destruct/continue blaming others and keep coping in a negative way (which all seemed good at the time). It took a friend or two to drill it in my head that I needed to get better for me and let the past go. I needed to move on and stop resorting to limiting myself as unimportant or not-good-enough.

I think he is kind of past the steps of having that reliable person help him get past his "situation." Maybe this will turn into a miracle kind of thing and he can get better. Who knows?

Opening the OP's link, I gasped when I read that number. I had no idea a human could be that big.

Whoever was feeding him ought to be brought up on charges. This kid sure as hell couldn't make his own way to the grocery store.

Yes, this case is extremely horrible, but I don't wanna judge anybody. This could be the effect of some disease or something like that. Moreover people have congenical tendency to be fat. I can see it on myself - I have to precisely control my meals and for example my brother can eat everything (inculding carbohydrates), he doesn't do any exercises but he's still slim.

    How was I throwing shade?

I am asking a serious question. I read it and was in shock. And since this is a fitness website thought this would be an interesting conversation....icon_rolleyes.gif
