I have seen several ads for Camp Buckwood that is located in Morgantown, Indiana in Brown County but have not been able to find anyone who has been to the site.

Does anyone know anything about this place or can you give any information about it.

    Recommendations, Advice, ect.

Here is their website but I always like to base my decisions to go someplace new on personal advice so any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Never heard of it, nor anyone who went there. Sorry.

How about trying something closer to DC?

Thanks you for the link, the place looks great from the site and what I have seen on it. I did live in the Adams Morgan area of DC for almost 5 years while working on Capitol Hill but moved away to Miami in 2004 and now reside in Louisville, KY for my job. I do still have many friends in DC but many others who have moved on to other locations as well. I get to DC now about two times a year to visit old friends but don't reside there. I would like to find someplace close to home if possible.

Thanks again, I may make a trip to check this out sometime.

Never heard of the place, but the site looks OK. Brown County is one gorgeous place and the campground could make a good base for touring. If you have not been to southern Indiana, I would give it a try.

Been there. Won't go back. Facilities (restrooms) nearly unable to handle the quantity of out-of-shape bears and transgenders. Pretty "gay gay gay". Campers blast their boombox discos until late in the night. Just not my scene. If you like camping in dirt (or mud if it rains) in a crowd, then you might like it.

I live in Indiana and I have never heard of this place before. I know of Brown County I've been down there lots of times. I know there is a gay nudist camp down there.

That is helpful advice from somebody that has visited and been to the site. I did notice they seem to have several themed weekends revolving around the "bear" theme and it is not something that I gravitate toward. But I still wanted to get some first hand advice or experiences from people who have visited.

    Thanks 69KY69

I have been several times in years past.
    Here's my assessment:

pluses: the pond is my favorite part about this place. its not really used much & can be really peaceful by yourself. they typically have a floating doughnut shaped raft out in the middle to swim to. the water is deep & clean. i've brought my dog there & swam. it's also nice that i could bring my dog. the trails around the lake are nice & you could hike naked if you wanted w/o a problem. it is possible to camp away from the crowd. the vicinity has several pretty places to explore: brown county, Bloomington, etc

minuses: i wasn't really into the social scene around the pool (loud & obnoxious). restroom was kinda grotty - just get in & get out & don't forget your flip flops in the shower.

neutral: the sling shed gets busy late night & held my curiosity for a good 5 minutes
