    http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/22/tech/web/huffington-post-anonymous-comments/index.html?hpt=us_t2

An excerptIn other words, the Internet "trolls," or nasty anonymous commenters, have gotten worse. The Boston Globe, which covered Huffington's speech, quoted her as saying that "trolls have become more and more aggressive and uglier."

Websites have long grappled with how to police users who hijack comment threads with posts that range from snarky to untruthful to downright vicious, their animosity protected by anonymity.

I agree. The article concludes by noting it should be easy to get around HufPo's new rules, which is also true.

Huffington Post pages load so slowly it should be a metaphor.

"Why, that's as slow as a Huffington Post page."

Yes, but RealJock has a two-tiered membership system. Overall, the verified trolls are more civil than the unverified ones.

Go back to your hole in Fox News where everything is fake. That's where all you trolls belong. Then we can lock the door and contain the crazy.

I stopped reading and responding to "news" on this site once I discovered that moderators were politically and relgiously biased in their selection process of what gets posted.

Why all this animosity about The Huffington Post? It is unabashedly on the side of gay equality. I don't go to it often because it is so slow to load but she pioneered the concept of gathering articles from a wide spectrum of sources. Yes there is an editorial bias but so what? It is more sensible that the Fox News crazies. And much less mean-spirited.

There is only one moderator, and he doesn't select what gets posted. Sometimes he will delete something if he gets enough complaints about it. Yesterday's action had nothing to do with politics or religion.

Is ST referring to Huffington or RJ?

Our little RJ troll did his best to dodge and weave but ultimately got squarshed! He'll be back, of course.

Good question. He could have been talking about Huffington.

I really wanted this thread to be about anonymous trolls, but the example is the Huffington Post, so the thread is going that way instead.

I feel the same about Real Jock. Everyone should know who posts comments here. you should not be able to HIDE your profile when posting! If you can post a comment and hide you should not say it in the first place!

True. Or they all start calling them "trolls" as if that word has some kind of magic power to make them go away.

We can't attest to the statistics, but the experience is in dramatic contrast to that assertion.
