True story. This is from Chicken soup for the Teenage soul. A middle aged man in a busy office had worked with college interns at his job. One day all the interns came into work and gave all the other co-workers flower or candy with a note as they shook everyone hand upon giving them a present they urged everyone, when they go home, to tell someone they care for that they love them and to give them a hug. The man, I am talking about thought what was said to him and he was compelled to tell his son that he loved him. The man never told his son that he loved him, he just thought that his son would just know that he did. When the man got home, he went to talk to his son and said;” I know at times I maybe hard on you and even yell at you at times. It is because I want the best for you, and I want to see you do well. I also want you to know that I love you.” Then the father hugged his son. The father was shocked at the sons reaction, his son started to cry and shake a little,. The father patiently waited for his son to calm down so he could find out what was wrong. His son told his Father, “Dad I thought you always hated me! You only yelled at me and never told me you loved me. I thought everything I did was wrong. I was going to commit suicide later today!” Tragedy was narrowly averted that day. You can bet that son and his Father had a much better relationship. NEVER assume people know you love them. Tell everyone who you care for that you love them. Friends, family, everyone. Those who value you value your compassion. Letting people know you love them, at least once in a while, for others, on a daily basis rejuvenated and revitalize people. Just saying “I love you my friend, I love you wife, girlfriend, Aunty, Grandam, Grandpa and soon is rewarding and addictive, Sharing love and grace brings us closer to God as it also serves to spread a little bit of heaven on Earth. When was the last time you told someone you loved them? Do it now, smiles and warm wishes and love in return are always a good thing, God bless.
