Foreskin Issues?

So I was having a chat with a friend of mine about sex and things, and we got on to the topic of foreskin. He was surprised when I told him that mine retracts past the head and even further. He told me that he can't even get his foreskin past the head!

I wanted to help him out (we've been friends since elementary school) and so I did some research for him and I couldn't really find anything, so I'm turning to you.

He says that it's a bit tight, and that there seems to be a small piece of skin, perhaps a flap (?) connecting his foreskin to the penis head right below the external urethral orifice. Obviously this is the issue but is there no fix for it? I don't know.

    Thanks,
    Wyatt

Yeah, he's 22 which is quite old for this to happen I think.

Unless you're a doctor specializing in urology, you can't help your friend. Actually, I take that back. You can help him by finding a good doctor for him. My concern for your friend is twofold: 1) Does the tightness cause circulatory problems and 2) how well can he clean the glans penis since the foreskin doesn't expose the entire head?

If he's really concerned about it, tell him to go see a doctor.

Sometime around puberty I had that problem. I keep working at it till I could pull it down.....and THAT was painful. I had to, my skin wasn't big enough and I have a sort of downward kink in my dick as a result.

    Not too old.

I was past 25 when I had a needed nip.

I'll never forget: I was at work after the nip that required stitches and almost had to go home when I got an erection for no reason--talking about pinch. I really do not believe the stitches were dissolving that well.

That connecting skin is called the frenulum, analogous to a similar structure under the tongue. It helps to draw the foreskin over the glans (head), and is especially sensitive, a good place to direct attention when giving a guy oral. Even after its removal during circumcision that area remains sensitive.

Have your friend see a urologist to determine the cause of his problem, most likely a tight foreskin. This is a known condition, and the doctor may suggest surgical and non-surgical remedies. It should be addressed, since it could lead to an increased chance for infection, reduced sexual enjoyment physically, and complaints from sexual partners due to possible cleanliness issues.

Whatever happens, make sure he knows that circumcision is NOT the answer to this problem. Perhaps a slight snip to provide for better gliding action, but circumcision would be a major mistake and overkill for this kind of issue.

Thanks everyone - I've passed on your advice to him. He isn't very keen about seeing a doctor (I would be the same way to be honest). He said he'll try some 'stretching exercises' and if that doesn't help after a month or two he said he'll see a doctor.

I had Phimosis. Couldn't stretch beyond 10-15% of my glans.

Turns out, I needed a good stretch with sufficient lub consistently. That introduced me to the world of masterbation. I was 21. Previously, I had wet dreams.

Over 1 year, I can stretch comfortably although it remains tight.

    The key to note is..
    1. Consistent progression
    2. Sufficient Lubricant

Surgery is a quick fix but a sword losing it's stealth gets dull.
