Well, I almost forgot, today would have been MJ's 55th birthday. So, to celebrate the best entertainer of all time, I want to ask, what is your favorite MJ?

Mine of course is the song that started it all:

'You know, I was wondering you know
If we should keep on, because the forces got a lot of power
and it makes me feel like, feel like OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Second favorite would be 'Human Nature'

Personally, I like all MJ, but those two are stand outs.

    "Billie Jean".

A pop classic the second it was released.

I had to pull off to the side of the road to finish listening to it the first time I heard it; it effin' blew me away.

I'm torn between "Man in the Mirror" and "Will You be There"...both are very emotional and I love them.

Its hard to say none, considering even to this day, I am still discovering new MJ music.

You should like you are referring specifically to genre. Please note, Michael went beyond Pop, in fact Thriller was based around the idea of the Nut Cracker with its myriad of genres.

First black artiste to have a cross over hit with Beat It on MTV.

If you go through the entire album, each song is a different genre:

Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' - Pop/Rap
    Baby Be Mine - Funk
The Girl Is Mine - Pop
    Thriller - Pop
    Beat It - Rock
Billie Jean - Pop (samples Hall & Oats I Can't go for that)
    Human Nature - RnB
    PYT - Pop
Lady in My Life - RnB/Soul

You are so lucky (envy)! You got to see him in person! MJ came to Jamaica in the mid 70's with the Jacksons. Met Bob Marley, took a picture with him in a tree. icon_smile.gif

Oh man, how could I leave that out!

Looking through my mirror, took me by surprise
I can't help but see you running often through mind
I can't help it if I wanted too, I wouldn't help it if even if I could.

I bought Off the Wall in the mid 90's and was shocked when I heard it, because a local radio station used the rhythm for a 5 minute program for inspirational thoughts which was back in the 80s.

Looking through the liner notes, its written by the wonderful Stevie Wonder himself! I notice the chorus has a bit of a reggae sound to it. icon_smile.gif

Glad you pointed that one out!

Billie jean. This just reminded of the song we use to sing by MJ when we were younger. We didnt know the words, because we ddnt understand english. To this day i still dnt know that song. i still sing it the way we used when we were kids. But from time to time i find myself singing it. Ooooh good memories.Let me google it.

I think this is probably the closest MJ has ever come to doing reggae.

Sue me, Jew Me, Everybody Do Me
Kick Me, Kike Me, but don't you black and white me!

Some of my favorites from the disc 2 of History are:

    Scream
    Stranger in Moscow
    Earth Song
    Money
    You are not alone
    Little Suzie
    Smile
