Lowe's already has Halloween stuff on display. Target usually has Xmas stuff on the sales floor by mid October. It's funny seeing a snowman lawn ornament next to fake skeletons. icon_lol.gif

I hate to say it, but Christmas sucks. it's too much. By the time it gets here I'm sooooo over it. The music, the food, the gift giving, the fakeness, the bullshit family obligations and gifts. Hate the whole charade.

I like thanksgiving and july 4. Non-gift giving holidays. They're easy and fun.

For my job I write advertising/descriptive copy and music reviews for our product catalogs. We're doing the holiday catalogs right now.

As such, I've spent the entire week listening to Christmas music. It feels particularly bizarre considering that it has been in the 90s out all week.

Oh, and a lot of it is children's Christmas music, like the Wiggles and Barbie.

    I'll happily accept everyone's pity... icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

work for a toy store and only have out School supplies and Halloween at our stores...Retailers are pushing the holidays this year but can blame the consumers for this because you guys do not write anything to them to let them know how stupid it is..We just do what they tell us to do...YOU dictate what really happens if enough complain about it...

Pumpkins at the grocery store end of August. Are these the same as the bionic tomatoes that do not go bad after three months...?

I wish retailers would come to a mutual agreement to only advertise for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas when the actual month starts but that will never happen.

We discuss this every year. There was an article in the NYT women's fasions of the year insert that commented how insane fashion has become because you cant buy a winter coat in January anymore and summer clothes disappear in August. The whole world has gone crazy. This is a pathetic money grab from people who dont know the meaning of Christmas.Ry

I Christmas any time of year, so long as it isn't in my home.
