Hey, can any of you scholars out there furnish some info? Specifically, I was wondering what's the earliest reference to oral sex -

    a) in World Literature

    b) in Western Literature

    c) in a man-to-man context

I know Shakespeare joked about it but on a World Literature timescale that was hardly more than a month and a half ago. The Bible doesn't mention it as far as I know (that means it's not a sin, right?), and I also can't recall any mention in the ton or so of ancient Greek classics I've read. How about Roman literature? The Kama Sutra?

    Who can cite a reference?

This is why I love RealJock. For the endless - ahem - scholarly body of knowledge to be found among the members here. What would we do without such easy access to the history of fellatio?

    actually, to clarify:

spilling your seed is a sin, ergo oral sex is a sin b/c it doesn't lead to conception. spilling seed is also a reference to masturbation, coitus interruptus, intercrural sex/thigh frottage, heavy petting, hand jobs, sex with animals and any other sexual activity that causes a man to orgasm outside of a human vagina. (male-on-female rape, however, isn't a sexual sin, and it's impossible for a husband to rape his wife)

Ah, but Jesus said it's not what goes into your mouth, it's what comes out that makes you unclean. From that I gather oral sex is OK, as long as you swallow...
