I'm a huge sucker for romance. I'll start. My boyfriend was in Seattle and I was back home in Hawaii. His birthday was coming up, and there was no way I could afford to get up there. So I got a nice clear bottle and filled it with sand and a bunch of shells I had been finding all summer. I wrote my note to him and put it in there. I got him a really expensive ($80) bottle of red wine from our family wine tasting and sent that to him also. I tried to decorate the inside to look like it had just washed up on the beach buuuut.... Not too artsy.... Oh and I wrote letters on the shells and he had to arrange them to say "Happy Birthday! I love you!"

Maybe not the most romantic thing, but I thought it was pretty cute.

it was for my very first guy encounter. i wouldnt call it a relationship because we never got there.

i painted a portrait of him and me. i went to his place to give it to him because he would no longer respond to my messages. when i got there, i gave it to him and hugged him. when i started to cry, he told me "please dont cry"

and that feeling when you know he just want you to leave asap.

yea that was my first broken heart and i was soooo surprised how painful it was.

i usually make something (draw, paint, something personal) for someone special

Told this one here before: for Valentines Day I arranged our dining room table before he came in, with a red heart containing candies I individually selected, red roses, red & white balloon, and a white teddy bear holding a red heart (he collects bears). The card, also in red & white, pictured a table for 2 on the front, with champagne glasses.

Inside the card was attached a plastic gift card for his favorite restaurant, and next to it I had written that we had reservations in an hour. The gift card was actually a dummy they gave me, just to display their name, because I'd already paid for the meal the day before.

Once we got there he found our table waiting with flowers, and champagne on ice, plus champagne glasses set out, the table made to look like the one pictured on his card. During dessert, following a lovely meal, the singer they had that night came over to our table as prearranged to serenade him with a song I had chosen.

While singing she surprised him with a wrapped gift I'd dropped off the day before without his knowledge, so he wouldn't see me carry it in with us. And I thought it was more fun to have her present it to him that way than me. The whole dining room was naturally watching her sing at our table and broke into applause as he took his gift, straight & gay couples alike. Inside the gift box was a wristwatch, another item he collects.

When all was finished I got up to leave, and he said we hadn't received the check yet. I told him it was already paid, including the tip, no check required, we were free to leave. People were congratulating us as we passed their tables, and asking if this was also our anniversary. It wasn't.

This last Valentine's Day wasn't a surprise, because I gave him a Caribbean cruise, which required some preplanning by us both. But I had little surprises for him onboard the ship, including, yep, a teddy bear and a wristwatch.

    Nice ones..!

I'm a hopeless romantic too icon_smile.gif I think I've done many things in the 3 years we've been together but the one he remembers the most is when I was playing with my band and then in the middle of the set the other musicians left the stage and I played a ballad I did for him and dedicated it to him in front of everyone, I said something like "this one is for Marcos who bares with me everyday...I love you" icon_redface.gif (we never do any public demonstrations so that was pretty big). Also the lyrics were pretty personal too

Each year I surprise him for his birthday in some way. He is far from gullible, but I manage to surprise him every year. It's usually a rouse of some sort, like having a party for something else and blame-o, it's for him! icon_smile.gif

I do exactly the same thing. But then he's given me some surprises, too, like for my 60th birthday. Totally suckered me on that one. icon_biggrin.gif

The most romantic things I've done for my ex.

    - Flew to Boston to be with him and his family in the east coast
    - Celebrated his birthday, got him gifts, was naked in bed later that night as an unwrapped gift. Lol

I've been dating on and off a couple guys after my ex. I hung out with this one guy recently, we went to the beach, I slept over and we went to have pancakes in the morning!
