NDSU's upset of KSU, Purdue's loss to Cinci, Northwestern's win over Cal, Clemson's victory over Georgia, and the return of that loud-mouthed punk who persists in calling himself "Johnny Football," though no Johnny Angel he. What say ye???

I'm very curious on how Manziel's season will look like. The man can definitely play some football but his mouth has been more of a weapon than his throwing arm.

Meh, I think ESPN's coverage of Manziel yesterday was too harsh. Of course the guy has an attitude, he attends one of the honkiest universities in the US, he's revving against the culture. And you gotta agree the man has talent, I predict he'll have another great season.

We'll see how good Georgia is next Saturday when they play my Gamecocks. That *may* have been a great win for Clemson or Georgia might be down this year. It was an entertaining game, nonetheless.

The Dawgs are going to be pissed going into next week's game. At the same time, it puts a lot of pressure on them to win if they want to remain in the top rankings.

Georgia's season will be over next week when South Carolina and the HBC lay another ass whooping on them. I just hope my Gators leave Coral Gables with a W.

Ironically, that is how I and every VT fan looked after half-time.

That's all I got to say.

Lol. I remember that play exactly. Edmunds broke that play open for VT and even I was shocked at the speed.

Great win for Clemson. Their offense is going to put up some points as expected this year. Going to tough for ACC teams to keep up, as expected.

South Carolina was very impressive (I thought) as well. That defense is one of the great defenses in the country, and they look to have enough fire power on offense to keep up with the better offenses.

The Big 12 is VERY weak this year. I think TCU is going to come out of it, but wasn't impressed with many of their teams.

I actually think the Pac-12 is pretty strong. (No, not SEC strong before the SEC trolls come spouting off about their conference). This is despite Oregon St's debacle. Oregon and Stanford will do what they always do. ASU and UCLA look like top 15-20 teams. Washington looked great last night, and will be a team to keep an eye on. Even bottom feeders Cal and Washington St. looked much improved last night. I think they're separating themselves as the second best conference this season.

Going to be very interesting in the next few weeks. I think there are a ton of teams that have a legit shot at playing in the BCS championship, so going to be interesting to see which of these teams separate themselves.

His attitude has to change. Not even Texas A&M, but he has a GIANT target on his back with SEC schools this season, and they are going to come after him hard. It will be interesting to see his demeanor when he and TA&M struggle for the first time. But I think his attitude is going to get the best of him at some point.

Even though BAma rolls into College Station next week, and regardless of offensive sputtering with BAma and special teams, the Tide defense will give Mr. Autograph plenty to go ape shit over.

He is going to just be another pain-in-the-ass TO. And no NFL team will keep him for long.

Agree on both points. Sure, the guy's got talent, but he's also got a bad attitude that has demonstrably hurt his team in this team sport. Is it really asking too much for good sportsmanship and a humbler attitude to accompany prowess on the field? I don't think so; give him "an order of prognosis negative."

Gamecocks and Clemson: yes, looking good, but as for SJSU over Stanford, that's more virtual than real at this point. Northwestern played surprisingly well against Cal, who didn't look that bad once they calmed down, which'll make next Sat's game against OSU interesting in Berkeley. Nice to see the Buffs come back, too, even if it had to be against CSU; same for UCLA. PSU/Syracuse didn't reveal too much about either team, though both played competently enough, which'll keep the Big 10 lively. NDame off to a good start, but there was something tentative about their play. As for MI's wipeout of CMU, don't read too much into that, much as Blue Boosters like me would like to. Early overall diagnosis: look for more unheralded teams to do well this season than in prior ones.

The biggest shocker...Florida should have scored 70+ against Toledo....a 24-6 win actually is concerning....

Exactly. Aim actually a little concerned for his health next week against Bama. Saban and the Tide are scheming against him right now. Bad parenting.

Is it my imagination, but Manziel does NOT look like your everyday college sophomore to me. I'm thinking he's 25+ in age because I think "twink-like" when "college sophomore" comes to mind.......

He doesn't appear to be a guy who will age well.
