Well, we kinda knew this was coming, but it died out because of the partnership between both companies.

Nokia is pretty much buying out the key part of Nokia's business which includes the Lumia and Asha line of phones along with its services business.

So Microsoft is realizing its goal of becoming a devices and company. Really exciting times ahead. As someone said, it looks like Stephen Elop is indeed a Trojan horse since he previously work at Microsoft as head of its Office productivity software division (Word, Excel etc).
