Songs you never wanted to hear in a gym.

K, so I'm in the locker room getting dressed after finishing all of my workout and what do I hear on the speaker system? Britney Spears' "I'm Not a Girl". Who would pick this to go on a music list? All I could think about was how funny it would be for the men in the locker room to start singing the chorus while changing. (Too many musicals. LOL)

So I thought, with all the other forums about music to listen to while working out, what song(s) have you heard while working out that you wish were never played?

ha! its funny.. cause when I saw the subject title and clicked on it, in my mind I was trying to think of a good Britney or NSync song to add as a reply... but the one you heard was probably the best Britney song for this topic.

John Legend's "Ordinary People". The song is good. But I do not want to run or lift weights to such a slow song.

"Hey There Delilah" - what the fuck is that and why is it ever played in a gym? Yeah I wanna hear some dumb white guy croon to his bitch while playing a hippy guitar because that keeps my heart rate up and motivates me to pump this shit up. icon_rolleyes.gif

The worst song I've ever heard played in the gym was I Will Remember You- Sarah McClaughlin. I actually do like that song a lot. Just not when I'm working out.

LA Fitness has this sick idea that everyone out there wants to listen to terrible remixes of already horrible songs. The worst ones include the Mariah Carey gone techno mixes, Britney Spears' second attempt to give us more, and the last ditch effort to try and make One Republic not sound like a bunch of depressed, hormonal fairies.

"she's a lady" (nearly dropped a 120 pound dumbbells once I it came on)

ANY LOVE SONG (unless I'm beating off in the mirror, love songs aren't cool while doing squats unless your man is under you.)

How funny? My workout partner and I just talked about this. We work out in various 24HR Fitness gyms in San Diego. Most play awful music but tonight we hit the Santee gym and they were playing Green Day, The Cult, ect. Good harder music with fast beats. Old or new music, I do not care. But it should be a bit harder and solid rock for me. My fav? Guns N' Roses, Welcome to the Jungle, Mr. Brownstone, ect.

The worst? Commodores, Celine, ballads of any kind. Someone mentioned "Three Times a Lady"? Lionel Ritchie? Or anything by Kenny Rogers? Maybe they could follow it up with Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up"? In a gym? Maybe at happy hour in a dive bar when everyone wants to sing along to a bad song we all know. But in a gym?

    Thank Apple for I-Pods.
