Ugh. Now I have to get HBO to watch "Looking".

Love their picture of his face.

His ears, eyes, nose, and mouth... I'm good.

I really don't care what the rest of him looks like.

Or if you have a Netflix account, you can wait until then. I prefer to wait to watch the entire season instead of waiting every week.

He's averge looking at best, but he's white so I guess that makes him a hot commodity. The show looks really good but I won't be watching. Once again a major gay television program excluding minorities out of the cast as if we just don't exist in the gay world. There's on e racially ambiguous mixed guy who probably only has one episode.

I have HBO, when is the series starting? The guy actually looks like you, the OP, if you cover his ears.

that's one reason why i could care less about the show. the show is relatable to who exactly??? i have yet to see a gay show that is relatable. queer is folk, noah's ark, dtla, will & grace???? naw, can't relate.

So far this show just looks like it perpetuates the myth that black gays don't exist or that we don't matter. At least Noahs Ark acknowledged the fact that there are BGM that exist and we are relevant. No wonder there is such sexual racism in the gay community.

Exactamente. Noah's Ark wasn't the best written show but the fact that a show about the lives of four black gay men was even produced is noteworthy.

There were some fine ass men on that show too. icon_razz.gif

i disagree. noah's arc was some other shit. how many of us black men in here could relate to the characters of the show? i also didn't appreciate the whole entire "homothug" episode they had where if you're a black gay guy that isn't acting effeminate or like the main characters trying to fit into a gay stereotype, then you're a "homothug" who's trying to compensate for your sexual orientation. BULLSHIT.

The only character I could relate to even a little was Wade, so yeah. icon_neutral.gif

exactly, both shows are airbrushed bullshit.

let's keep it real. the world doesn't WANT a gay drama that is based off of the real issues that involve gay males. i told my brother, who's straight, about some of the issues that plague the gay community like racism and he was horrified. he couldn't believe that shit. can you imagine how the world would react if there was a reality show or a tv drama show highlighting what the realities that we see and face in the gay community because a lot of people don't know about that shit. if they let me make a tv show about that shit, i would straight up air it out. the racism, the superficiality, the self hatred issues, the masculine and feminine wars, folks being closeted, folks sleeping around, folks in their relationships, folks having trouble dating, the young vs. old, coming out, grindr, web forums and blah blah blah. folks wouldn't want their little safety net to be exposed to the world though it needs to in order for gays to be integrated into society ensuring that we're able to get our protections and shit. it would probably bridge the gap where straight people would realize that we deal with the same bullshit they do too. i'm pretty sure a lot of people in here would be pissed off because they would claim that it "makes the gay community look bad" but then again, keeping it real and honest ain't valued in the gay community so hey..

Agree with everything you said. We can't face the truth about our community but we want everyone bursting out of their closets to come out. To what I ask? This? (mentioned above)
