Oh hell no, I don't want to be here in 50 years ... the whole world is going to hell, everyone will be living like the future vision of "Twelve Monkeys"

It don't matter. In 100 years, things won't be that much different. Maybe 1000 years.

I'd rather live it now. I'm not that curious about the future and what it holds. Besides, all that ice to freeze you can't be good on our delicate skin. icon_smile.gif

50 years ago there were no cellphones and no computers. Now we have rfid chips which have already begun to be implanted in various countries. Every country is moving toward the One World New World Order. If you think the country is not going to change that much in 50 to 100 years, you've fallen asleep.

    agreed.

I was thinking more on a larger scale. Like space travel. Honestly, having tiny cell phones and flat screen TVs isn't all that interesting to me. I guess everyone has different perspectives on things.

You'll be immediately exterminated or placed in a cage for observation because everyone will be genetically engineered for perfection. You would not be allowed in society for fear of some sort of contaminant that was eradicated hundreds of years ago. They will create workers and rulers as needed.

hmm ... you're not keeping up with technology are you? That was an example of where we have come in fifty years .... look up Brazil and rfid's, also government officials and rfid's. You know, those things the people keep pushing on you to put in your pets. Why do you think that is? Every where you go there is a camera on you. One of the biggest thriving businesses in the US is prisons. Did you know that Japan began work about 20 years ago of growing brain cells on computer chips and were working on creating one of the largest neuro networks in the world with those chips ... I wonder how far they have come with that. The i-pad and smart pad is just a first generation. The military already has thin sheets that fold up and roll up that do basically the same. The Euro was just the first step toward one world money conversion. Canada, the US and South America will soon follow with a similar fund. Everything goes straight to the bank and out through cards. Soon there will be no money you will just scan your hand or fore head. All this freedom you have now to go where ever you want will be gone. I will have to apply for permission for everything and you will need a good reason and plenty of money to back it up. You might think it is getting better, but it's not. It's like putting a frog in a pot of water and slowly raising the heat a little at a time. It never notices even when it is too late.

Edit: Let's not forget the population exploding uncontrollably .... Food rationing, water rationing, fuel rationing ... or will they finally take control of it like China

    Now

I'm highly skeptical that humans will still be roaming around 100 years from now.

Now, always now. No future no past, only now.
the only thing we have under our control is the present. So, always now.

I agree! And with my luck, in the 49th year there would be a nationwide power outage and I'd just thaw and rot….I'm living today while I can! Look out people, I'm on a mission now icon_twisted.gif

By then, the gays will have taken over or been eliminated - either way, I'll stick with now.

(I'd think most of the guys on here will still be around 50 years from now anyway.)

Wow, so much fear that the world is going downhill. I would love to live now, and continue living into the future, for a very long time.

But to answer the question, I think I'd stay now, unless I had some crippling disease that I'd hope to cure.

You will probably live to see parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan permanently under water. Fortunately (for me), I won't.

yes, and it breaks my heart.

Most of us don't even have that under our control.

well...That's because most of them(or people who think that like that) are not aware of it. Once a man discards his ego, everything will be clear.

Only if the Morlock's promise not to eat me; if not, then Now.
If they do: would really like to wait till California slides into the Pacific or Florida disapears.
