Kinda surprising, its like my 20's went by so fast and so much has happened. For those who are now in their 30s or older, did you get to do what you wanted in your 20's, if not, did it happen for you in your 30's?

Reflecting on this number during the last parts of August/Summer, I said to myself, I want to achieve a number of things in my early 30's and its part of what led me to RealJock recently by accident and ultimate having me join the site:

    - Maintain good health
    - Start an everyday exercise routine (started officially on Tuesday morning at 5 am. Its been extremely tough, my legs are sore, the burn from lifting is almost unbearable, lifting some home made weights I am using so far. Overall, I am keeping at it and just the short time since I started, I am seeing minor improvements. So the objective is to keep at it and consistency.

    - Ultimately, leave my home country and move to somewhere more tolerable. This is probably the most critical one. My love life is pretty much dead as a door stop. I live in Jamaica and it makes it impossible to find someone either the good ones have left or those here are like trying to play Minesweeper. Its not about just leaving the island to find love, but also to really officially start a new beginning, have a healthy life and meet like minded people. I have started some steps to this, hopefully by summer 2014 or 15, this will become a reality.

So, just some of the objectives I have committed to accomplishing in my early 30's. Of course being a millionaire was one of them, not giving up on the idea, but its gonna have to take a back seat to more short term goals.

Happy Birthday, man! Re your question: unlike some of my contemporaries, I welcomed turning 30. My 20s were a struggle, and I felt like I had accomplished something by getting through them. icon_smile.gif I also felt just a tad more like a grown-up. But, as is often said, it's just a number. As long as you're making the most of who you are now, you're good to go.

    Happy birthday, man.

I don't think the 20's, 30's thing works for men. It's a girl thing because they peak in their 20's. For men, I think it is a 25-35, 35-45, etc thing. By the time you finish your education, you're already into your 20's and just getting started. Reading your profile, I think you should rework your thinking to achieving your goal of leaving Jamaca by age 35. Good goal, btw. Nasty country for gays.

Thanks for the advice, well, I am starting now, so at least, if it doesn't happen by 32, it its a guarantee by 35. You are right, the culture just makes it impossible to survive as a gay man here.

Ack. I hit 30 in July and haven't really paid attention (I weigh myself like once a year - it doesn't change).

Happy Birthday, PaulDee! I haven't done everything I'd have liked to do by 30, but that's the Iowa perspective. Life happens more slowly here (especially when you take time off for grad school). In the meantime, there are lots of great experiences to be had.

Happy Birthday. I did what I could based on my ignorance and knowledge in my 20s and 30s. It wasn't until after all of those years that I recognized what I could have done (or been) but I did what I knew, the best that I could and I've made it a couple of decades further so I guess it wasn't all bad.

the 20's do go by unexpectedly fast.

but the only reason why they are considered good years is bc supposedly you can still feel young during your 20s. & like you can still fuck around and mess around w/ people and get massively drunk all you want and it'll be okay.

    but youth is largely overrated.

sometimes i wish i'm 80. bc i'm sure everybody finally leaves you alone when you're 80.

i bet the 30's are way better tho. than the 20's. cos maturity & wisdom comes with age. and in your thirties i think you finally start making sense. when you're in your 20's most people still have their head in the clouds.

today is also my best friend's birthday. & she is one of the most special, smartest and most gregarious people in my life.

Thanks all for the BD wishes. I am starting to feel quite mature, might be the number 30 and my head playing tricks with me. Kinda feel guilty looking at eye candy for some early 20 year old men on RJ, kinda gives me the robbing the cradle feeling I guess.

Not gonna lie, that thought came into my mind at first, since you have look at it from here out that the next 30 years, which I do know is long way from here, I will be 60. Then again, when I look at a lot of the guys in the 60's or even early 70s with the physique of a fit 25 year old man, it gives you a lot of inspiration that life doesn't have to be pre-determined for you, you yourself can change it. icon_smile.gif
