Everyone’s got two nipples (except for the freaks)

By the end of the twentieth century, modern Western Civilization had come very close to equality between the sexes. Now in 21st century America, to even suggest that men and women aren’t equal is blasphemous. Women and Men can hold down the same jobs, raise families, and earn equal incomes.

Then why is it okay for a man to walk around in public without a shirt, but not for a woman?

Now I’m not saying that I want to see every adult female walking around shirtless, with their ya-yas swinging in the wind. But in all fairness, why is a woman’s breasts seen as a sexual organ and a man’s isn’t. Is it the larger nipples? What if you pump or pierce your nipples to make them larger? Is it the breast feeding factor?

And what’s the big deal with breast feeding in public? Some people complain that it is obscene for a woman to pop out her boob so the wriggling little fiend will shut up and eat, but to me it seems as natural as farting. Women have been doing this for centuries.

But don’t think that the lawmakers and complainers are simply targeting women these days. In Atlanta, there is a proposed city ordinance to ban the wear of saggy pants that expose the wearer’s drawers. The exposure of any underwear, to include women’s sports bras or bra straps, boxer shorts or jock straps above the pant line, etc, would fall under the same portion of the city code that bans public sex or fondling your genitals in public.

A number of cities have tried to pass dress codes but there is only one, Delcambre, LA, that I’m aware that was successful. In Delcambre, exposing your underwear can ear you a $500.00 fine or six months in jail.

I doubt Atlanta will be successful, especially since the fashion of sagging pants began with the black youth culture and the population of Atlanta is African American in the majority. Straight men will rarely complain about a woman’s thong showing above her jeans (unless she’s around 300+ lbs of love). And besides, if a Man can walk down a street or a beach wearing not but a Speedo, how is that not ‘indecent’ , yet a man wearing Jeans, Hoodie, Ball cap, and underwear is ‘indecent’ when all of his flesh is covered up?

What is indecent? What are your opinions, gripes, thought?

I think it all boils down to patriarchy and the toxicity of monotheistic body shame.

I think that until the obesity crisis in America is over, there should be a requirement to cover up as much skin as possible. Going to the beach can be as disgusting as going to a slasher flick. Fortunately, it's real easy to bury vomit in the sand.

    Boobies...

Apparently bi and straight guys do think of them as sexual organs despite the fact that they technically aren't.

I'm with McGay though. In college I quickly learned that in general, most people look better with their clothes on.

Breast have tons of connotations not only in America but in other cultures as well. They represent motherhood, sexuality, youth, power, just to name a few. But we must remembe that as much as we guys measure our "masculinity" by the size of our dicks, women tend to measure their "femininity" and sex appeal by the way their breast look. Their insecurities would be exposed and many then hide under the moralistic approach and rather not show them. I can bet you if we pass a law that said all men had to walk around with no pants and underwear, men would jump into the same moralistic wagon and would rather not show their real "masculinity" to the world.

In Ontario, Canada, it is NOT illegal for women to go topless in public UNLESS it is for the purposes of prostitution.

LOL, Burinman, you DO have three nipples! I can see it! But you self-identified as a freak, so I said nothing offensive. :P

And while it might be unpleasent to see a large person who is nearly naked, we still should impinge on thier rights not to be a sweaty, fabric covered mess.

culturally speaking woman breast is the source of our initial life.
of course is sexual, because it has a connection with childs, who everyone knows when they came from and how, and are the tools who supports the babies... so are intimate things.

but is a cultural thing, of course.
I mean, even women athlets used to wear a sort of bra since 3000 AC, to avoid problems while performing.
but the Knossos ruins shows how where the traditional costumes and you could see
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Knossos_fresco_women.jpg
they where more liberal then we are.
    lol.

but if not properly covered and blocked, breast can hurt, expecially while running or doing gym...

a "healty" breast is a sign of youthness, and that's also why they were always supported with garments, to pretend to be younger in some way.

maybe they have a more sexual aspect because they are the source of suction, where the male's ones are just for no other technical purpose, female nipple has a specific role involved with feeding and sucking!

Biologically speaking, A womand womb, her nethers, is the source of all life.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sheela_na_Gig

A Mother's breasts provide nourishment for a child. But even the Roman's and Greeks had wetnurses. This just brings up the public breastfeeding issue again.

In the ancient Minoan to Hellenistic cultures, male athletes performed in the buff. This is a practice many of us would like to see a resurgance of.

It is legal for women to go topless in Austin, Texas, and by god they do. Not on the streets as much as at the parks. Any swimming hole around here has tons of huge fit earth girl titties swingin everywhere. Big Austin City Limits festival here this weekend, I'm sure there will be plenty of boobs breathing fresh air.

Well, Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction should tell you all that you need to know about how uptight Americans are about breasts. I personally don't get it either. Cool to hear that women can go topless in Austin.

It's no longer illegal for women to go topless in NYC. Infact, recently a woman who was detained by police for this reason was granted 29K in restitution. It seems that in 1992 an Appeals court here ruled that women have the same right as men to go topless - but the police were slow to pickup...

Laws can change, but until a few women get out there topless and challenge the existing sentiment, it is unlikely to change.

Polythelia or Polymastia is an additional nipple occurring in mammals, including humans. Often mistaken for moles, supernumerary nipples are diagnosed at a rate of 2% in women, lower in men. Polythelia refers to the presence of an additional nipple alone while polymastia denotes the much rarer presence of additional mammary glands.

So not actually that uncommon SS; Lots of people have them.

I remember how suprised I was the first time I saw Mark Wahlberg with his shirt off (Pool party in Bel Air); I had never actually seen one before.
