Sorry but I can't wrap my head, hands or anything else around the idea of referring to another guy as my 'Husband'.

    'Partner' works best for me.

    What's your choice:

    • Husband
    • Partner
    • Significant Other
    • Better Half
    • Fill in _____________

Husband, partner or the other half, as you do in any marriage.

    Husband.

I absolutely despise the term "partner" when describing a lover.

We always say "my other half." "Husband" has too much baggage and has a long history of only women saying it.

Because I won't be getting married again, ever.

Love always comes when you least expect it. I bet a nice dolphin is out there for you.

    Sun-of-my-life. And I'll be Moon-and-stars to him.

Because I'm a nerd like that.

The man I liked before we got married...or my shadow since that's what they always were in the past.

I had a mexican lover once that called me, Mr. "his last name". I always thought it was sweet, but we were never married or anything. Our names sounded well together too. He never called himself, Mr. "my last name" though. ha

    Husband

Though we haven't legally married, can't here in Florida. Nor have we traveled to a State that will let us.

But he IS my husband, because I SAY he is. Legalities be damned. He has all my love, all my devotion, all my everything. And I believe I have his.

So we are husbands. I used to say partners, but that sounds like a business arrangement, not clear enough.

No, we are husbands. And I use that term everywhere. "I'd like to buy a gift for my husband." "My husband will join me in a moment." What should I say instead? My "friend"? I won't do that, it demeans him.

So husband is what I use at all times, for all occasions. Anyone who can't deal with that can go fuck themselves. I'm not changing.

Lover and Spouse are not always the same thing though; you can be either without being the other .... one however is unfortunate (being spouse without being a lover).

For years I've been tempted to call him my husband, so, now, that he finally is, I refer to him as my husband, hubby and better half. And it feels great.
