1. this is NOT true. plenty of artists have gotten their big break because the people have supported them or built up their hype. the record labels would sign people based off of that. back in the days such as the 60s before automatic playlists came about, people would request songs on the radio and this is how artists became popular. up until the late 90s, radio stations and even tv music video outlets like the box for example actually relied on the people to basically chose the songs that they wanted to hear. however, that all went away when the record companies decided to do the whole payola crap where they basically told the radio stations what to play and NOT what to play establishing playlist. over time, it increased until all radio stations became owned by the record companies. however, youtube and the internet has actually helped change that where people have some control to boost up the artists that they like where record companies ended up signing folks based off of hype.
2. his music is trash. he CANNOT sing. let alone hold a note which explains his usage for auto tune because he can't hit the notes. he pretty much came up with the same song twice as well. also his subject matter is kind of dense. at first, it was about how he wants to turn his straight friend out. now it's about cheating on his boyfriend with someone else. as someone who uses his sexual orientation as an influence in his music, i think his music and his videos actually kind of hurt the gay community in a sense. like there's people watching and listening to that shit that thinks that's what being gay is all about when it's not.
3. i'm begrudging him because i personally don't think he's serious about this shit. it's not making sense. the music videos, okay. he actually has develop a fanbase. is he trying to embark on a music career or is he just trying to get attention for 15 minutes? where is his other songs at besides these two with the videos? he does realize that he can put out other songs without having to release a video for them. most music artists do that to please their fans or to keep their names out there. i'm sure there's people that will support him despite the fact that he doesn't have any talent. i personally think he's trying to pull a fast one on folks
Ok to your first point.
You are wrong . It is true. Even if an artist gets a labels attention from local buzz, they aren't exposed to larger audiences without the hype machine of the record label. It's just how it works. And those folk singers in the 60's? Same shit, payola still existed back then, and it still cost millions of dollars to record and break artists.
To your second point.
You are wrong. If you don't like the sound of his voice that's fine. But he can clearly hold a tune. He can sing a melody as it is written. It's not debatable. Go look up the live videos.
I don't even think you have a third point to address but I'll just say recording, producing and filming two music videos in a few months is a lot of work for someone "doing it on their own". he is definitely trying.
I mean, I don't even like the guy, but your comments are so outlandish I can't keep myself from replying...
