And then down near the end is this little tidbit:

"Meanwhile in the state of Iowa, it has emerged that authorities are granting gun permits to people who are legally blind, drawing alarm from law enforcement officers. The Des Moines Register reported that at least four counties in the state have issued weapons permits to a number of people with severe visual impairments."

Did you read the article Scruffy?

"It was a quiet Saturday afternoon in the town of Pine Bluff when police received a report that Monroe Isadore was waving a firearm and had threatened two people at his house.
Arriving to find the centenarian holed up in his bedroom, the officers announced their presence and were promptly shot at through the door, Lt David Price, a spokesman for the Pine Bluff police department told local television.
Back-up was called in and a miniature camera inserted under the bedroom door to confirm that Isadore was indeed armed. But despite lengthy negotiations the defiant pensioner refused to surrender, according to the police.
The situation then began to escalate rapidly, according to a description of events contained in a statement by the police department.
As the Special Weapons and Tactics unit (SWAT) surrounded the house, gas was introduced into the room to try and smoke Isadore out. Still, he held his ground, opening fire on officers."

Aristoshark saidSnuffed out in the prime of life. Sigh.

I kind of admire a geezer having a little drama in his life. Good for him. If I live that long I think I'll do the same thing.

The man was 107 years old! Don't you think they should have considered he just might have dementia or something? All they had to do was sit in their patrol cars for 10 minutes until he took a nap and they could have handled this a peaceful way.

How dare you suggest that common sense be applied to any gun ownership issue! Don't you know that the 2nd Amendment® guarantees blind people the rights to own guns and shoot anyone they want to? Their rights are just as sacred as retarded rednecks who get drunk and shoot themselves in the ass... this is what the Founding Fathers® would have wanted!
