So I wear boxers and have been since High School. I am thinking of maybe getting into boxer-briefs since I am getting older and the boxers are starting to annoy me, etc.

How do I get into finding the right pair? Where should I go?

Trial and error. You may prefer boxer briefs. Get a pair and see how they work for you.

I suggest you start out with something not 100% cotton. A good and common blend is 95% cotton with 5% spandex. But anything not 100% cotton will probably be good.

Skip the silk and definately don't buy polyester or nylon

I've tried boxer briefs. Horrible choice for guys with big legs. The leggings always ride up. I'll stick with regular briefs.

Also, TJ Maxx/Marshall's/Ross are good places to look for decent underwear at discounted prices.

There are also trunk briefs which I think have shorter leggings. I like those. I first tried boxer briefs and didn't like those for the reason you gave, and I don't have big legs.

I get mine at TJ Maxx. And I agree that 100% cotton is a poor choice; cotton stretches and doesn't recover until after a trip through the washer and dryer, so by the end of the day they'll be baggy.

But keep the boxers for bedtime wear.

That would be painful for me; my 'nads hang low and scrape on the center seam. Ouch.

I LOVE my 100% cotton CKs (in my profile photos). With pouches sized for big guys they felt and fit so right when I found them (styles U1098, U1009, U1012 and U1704) over a decade ago I bought a kilo and am glad I did - you can't find them in that fit and quality in 100% cotton anymore.

a lot of it is trial and error. every brand has a different feel/shape/size, etc.
