I "ADMIRE" bodybuilders and such, but I'm not turned on by them

OK, I've heard this a gazillion times from straight-identified men (as you probably have too). Do you really believe that they can look at a well-built man, and strive for thighs like him in the gym, or arms, or abs, with no sexual element whatsoever? In other words, that there is no implicit understanding of how such muscles can be a sexual turn-on?

F*ck, I already know. What do you think?

Yes, I think they can, just as I can look at a young man (with my slightly thinning hair) and tell them how I wish I still had such beautiful hair. It's not sexual in the least.

I think it's very easy to separate the two.

Think of it the other way around:

You see a beautiful woman at the gym. She is fit, nicely proportioned, has perfect skin but isn't wearing makeup, has beautiful hair, nice eyes, and straight white teeth. In other words, she's a bombshell. You decide that you want skin that is as nice as hers, and teeth that are as white.

Being a gay-identified man, you're probably not sexually attracted to her. And yet, you can recognize the characteristics that she possesses that would drive a straight guy wild. There is an implicit understanding of how such characteristics can be a sexual turn-on, but you scurry along and check out the guy in the tank top doing squats.

Another way to think about it: are all women sexually attracted to women whose busts they admire, or who are jealous of other women's figures?

Nobody aspires to muscled thighs, and tight abs, and big arms unless there's a sexual component to it. I mean, c'mon.

I'm 50 and I'm right about everything. That's my new tag line. icon_wink.gif

But seriously, I've had straight friends who've said, "If I was your way, yes, I'd do him." And it was all about those components. And facial hair. icon_wink.gif
