Today is my mom's birthday. She almost died from cancer in 2010 but miraculously survived.I attribute this to Christ's mercy and the prayers of the Blessed Virgin and the saints.Could I ask my RJ buds who believe to offer a quick prayer for her health. Her name is Jane. She has amazingly outlived almost all her family.Thanks. Ryan.

My mind went to one of my two stand out guardian angels: St. Jude.

Because you asked, I asked him to go to Jane. And to pass by you.

    Amen.

Did you Know St Peregrine is Patron of Cancer or St Lazarus. Here the prayer I recite while I had tumor

    Novena To
    St. Peregrine
Glorious wonder-worker, St. Peregrine, you answered the divine call with a ready spirit, and forsook all the comforts of a life of ease and all the empty honors of the world to dedicate yourself to God in the Order of His holy Mother.
You labored manfully for the salvation of souls. In union with Jesus crucified, you endured painful sufferings with such patience as to deserve to be healed miraculously of an incurable cancer in your leg by a touch of His divine hand.
Obtain for me the grace to answer every call of God and to fulfill His will in all the events of life. Enkindle in my heart a consuming zeal for the salvation of all men.
Deliver me from the infirmities that afflict my body (especially.....).
Obtain for me also a perfect resignation to the sufferings it may please God to send me, so that, imitating our crucified Savior and His sorrowful Mother, I may merit eternal glory in heaven.

St. Peregrine, pray for me and for all who invoke your aid.

I pray that Jane will enjoy a healthy and abudant life with her children, friends and all the people that love her.

Let the peace of the Lord keeps her away from anxiety and let the joy of the Lord encourages her in everyday of her life!

This is going to give you the most "bang for your buck" on the karma scale: go to her treatment center with a big f*ckin' bouquet of flowers and chocolates for the nurses who attended to your mother during her chemo and/or radiation. I'm telling you, when you do it, you'll understand why your mom is still here and as a special bonus she'll know that she raised a f*ckin' awesome son (which will fill her heart with more real love and courage than the prayers of a stranger).

That you RJ men for the prayers and kind words. My mom was literally minutes from death in 2010 and she also had sepsis.I never thought she would pull through. I must have called 3 dozen orders of priests and nuns and asked for their prayers. Many were so nice.I prayed till my knees hurt and amazingly my mom made it through. Her recovery was awful and although she will never be the person she was before physically or mentally she has made an amazing recovery.Usually I am not one to spill personal secrets but at the time I was all alone. All my immediate family are dead but for cousins and I was trying to be strong but I was terrified. One day I needed a drink so bad.SO I went to our only gay bar (now closed) where I knew many people. It was early around 9 pm.I quickly got myself loaded and who walks in the door but my future husband.At. the lowest point in my life fate tipped his hat lol.Thank God for my Ruben he is my rock. Thanks to all of you who took the time to post.Losing our parents can be rough even when we don't get along with them. icon_smile.gif Ry

Somehow I am beginning to see a lot of heartwarming threats on RJ as of lately, for which I am glad to see the gentler side of it!

My prayers for your Mom's speedy recovery! you sound like a concerned and dutiful son! enjoy her presence in your life now by being there for her always!
