what's everyone's excuse for sitting here in front of a screen on friday night?

i'll go first: its cold out, i'm not in the mood for a big frat party (my fraternity's having one tonight), i've seen all my movies, my mind is too flustery for meditation just yet, i've already worked out today, i've read all the books in my room here, and i have no one to cuddle with. not whining, just stating my reasons. wish there were more activity in here tonight though....

    ...................

    ............... (that's your cue- you're on)

ok....now go away it's Vivaldi, Bach and the Concert, Part II ...Vivaldi served as a model for Bach....check out Vivaldi's L'estro Armonico Violin Concerto, Op. 3, No. 9 compared to Bach's Concerto in D Major .....they are the same....'cept Bach wrote his for the harpsicord.

There really isn't that much to do to be honest. The only thing I'm doing right now, and have been doing is cleaning and watching movies. icon_neutral.gif

Simply listening to music and felt creative so I started painting/working on the wall. Kids are watching a movie, husband is in bed (just returned from Denver). Life is good.

In case you were wondering about the wall... (4204 flags for every dead soldier in Iraq)

I'm home because I came out to the rents about a half hour ago. A little exhausted and nervous about tomorrow.

Thanks, it didn't go too bad. My dad left the room and my Mom just kinda sat there, thought I was joking and after her asking and me reassuring her about 5 times she asked me some questions. Sat with her for a while, we didn't say anything and I eventually went to my room. She came in 10 minutes later and told me she loved me, that helped a lot! I'm just hoping my dad will be ok with it, our relationship has never been that good...

Yup, I'm living with them right now. My dad just kinda up and left, didn't say anything or look at me. I'm just nervous about what he will say tomorrow.

I have been on the verge of telling them for a while now, but I didn't say anything because both were extremely busy with work, Mom was working 14+ hours a day and I didn't want her to deal with this while working so hard. They had a trip to Hawaii for two weeks and I didn't want to tell them before they left because I didn't want them to think about it while they were on vacation, they got home a few days ago and I decided that things weren't going to change, I am who I am and it will only get harder to tell them later. So, I decided to go for it.

If his mother was like mine, everyone else will know by the next day or within a week or so.

Which reminds me of a story a friend told me....it seems he was in Vienna and decided to find Beethoven's grave. Apparently it's in an out-of-the-way spot in a secluded and very old cemetery. So he went there and spent some time, roaming around trying to find Beethoven's headstone. Just when he was about to give up, he sees a grave in the distance.

And as he approaches, he sees that the grave is open, and a man is sitting up in it. My friend is amazed....it's Ludwig himself...! And he's tearing up piles of music paper. First he rips up his Fifth Symphony...then his 3rd Piano Concerto....then the Choral Fantasy...

My friend is distraught. "Ludwig! Ludwig!" he cries. "What on earth are you DOING?"

"What does it look like?" Beethoven says. "I'm decomposing."

Hmmm...do you think dad might blame himself?......do you think it might help if you reassure him ....perhaps thru mom.....that it isnt due to anything he did/didnt do?

Do you have a PFLAG chapter up your way that you can quickly refer the El parentos to if they are having difficulty dealing with this? You might want to have their number/address available tomorrow.
