Sometimes it is like watching a glacier move, but things really are changing for the better! Quote, "(Pope) Francis said that someone once asked him if he "approved" of homosexuality.

"I replied with another question," he said. "`Tell me, when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person?’ We must always consider the person. Here we enter into the mystery of the human being." I can't remember a pope even using the word gay before. (Usually, its the clinical "homosexual") If a pope can treat the glbt person with dignity, then times really are changing! I am not Catholic, but so far I have been impressed with their current pope.

Perhaps they still have a ways to go, to get from tolerance to acceptance. But Pope Francis' words are stunningly progressive, and unprecedented.

I think it's certainly a step in the right direction, but I'm afraid a lot of other RJ members tend to see things differently (from my last Pope post anyway).

I have a wait-and-see attitude, but it certainly sounds encouraging.

Times really are changing. Just not fast enough for some. The rest of us are grateful for what we have achieved so far.

We will never have a pope officiate a gay wedding in St. Pete, but it's a big step up from being considered the greatest danger to civilization.

Don't be fooled by the Great Whore of Babylon.

Let's see some action rather than just words.
