Where can you go to meet gay guys aside from gay clubs?

I'm at that point where I want to start dating people but have had had little to no luck. I've realized all the sites out there (adam4adam, grindr etc) are all just for weirdos wanting hookups... any suggestions?

I met my guy through a coworker. I got lucky though, the opportunity randomly walked in my life. From your profile it seems like you may not be as obvious as other guys. If you have some sort of gay pride shirt, maybe wear it around your campus and to the gym. Not to be some kind of "in your face" thing, just to show you're confident in your sexuality and grab the attention of someone. I know I love it when someone id never expect wears a pride shirt. I don't know if it's just me, but it says "yeah I'm gay, idgaf come front on me." Which is hot. icon_razz.gif

I think many who call themselves "bros" just mean "I like bros."

Or who think that by calling themselves "bros" they aren't girlie.
Not that there's anything wrong with that....

One problem is where to meet gay guys.
Another problem is meeting guys with something in common other than just both being gay.

As suggested above, look for gay (or welcoming) groups with a common interest.
    The gay book club.
    The local theater guild.
The gay football league (that's us!)
    Volunteer at an HIV/AIDS organization.
    The local sci-fi con.
    Get involved in gay rights/politics.

do you play any sports? do you like live music or going hiking? there are a ton of sights like this and meetup.com where you can meet people. these sights are not hookup sights they are social sights. there you can meet like minded individuals like yourself to meet up and hang out with

I hated Bros in the 80's, although Luke Goss became a decent actor...

You know how some teams contemplate:

Are we a football team with a drinking problem or a drinking team with a football problem?

Can we generalize from that to the bar scene?

Are we gay people with a drinking problem or a drinking team with a gay problem?
