I am going to buy a scale that measure some things, will it be appropriate purchase to check if I gain muscles?

    this scale:

Measures BMI - body mass index, a guide to healthy body weight based on height.
    Measures body fat .
Measures body water - how hydrated your body is.

    Fake! Don't buy.

Your body fat cannot be measured by standing on a scale...The procedure is completely different.

First you need to enter a air tight bad and you need to breath in and out inside the bad for a certain period of time...Then the air is collected and the amount/concentration of co2 is measured. From the amount of time you spent inside, amount of co2 you breath out and your body weight...all these are entered into a formula and then your total body fat(in percentage or weight) is calculated. It can also be measured in MRI.
NOTE: Fat uses little or no energy, it always stays rest. So, the co2 you breath out, almost everything comes from muscle and other tissues like brain, liver, kidneys, metabolic processes, etc.

    About BMI
    This video explains everything

    Body water?
    A simple rule...
an average adult's water content in the body is roughly around 60% of total body weight.
More body fat implies less water (Fat and water don't mix)

I have one. (They allegedly measure fat by electrical impedance between your heel and toes.) It does not work, even in a relative way. In fact, as I got leaner, it claimed that I was getting fatter. When my abs started showing , it said I was going over 30% body fat!
