    pale or tan?

if pale, to what degree? alabaster? porcelain?
or does that just look magotty on some people?

if tan, to what degree? surely not gingerbread.

a healthy medium you say? keep in mind that pale is by far a healthier option..

do some just look better one way or another on a person-by-person basis?

i ask cause im starting to get really pale for the winter- u can see in my newest progress-pic... and i kinda like it. but im not sure if i should tan a bit or not to maintain a healthy color, or take it to a milky extreme :p

The palest my skin color can get is probably the tannest color of your skin. LOL

Depends. But yeah, I don't really like the milky white color you paleskins get during wintertime. XD I just don't like seeing veins under the skin I guess. I say get a healthy color in a healthy way, of course.

Some people do get away with pale skin. I usually find it attractive in stockier people with body hair. Beartypes.

ah see i think stockier ppl look better a bit ruddy, and scrawny ppl just look sickly when pale... i think it takes a good strong build to pull it off- like the main character out of some romanticized vampire movie, like queen of the damned lol :p marble torso and all that ;) yeah, i know what u mean about the veins under the skin thing... but i've also seen some pale skin that looks luminous and moon-like, like in the airbrushed D&G ads a few years back... i think it takes just the right person to pull it off though.

i never advocate the dark tans, personally. at best, its marred by knowing how prematurely wrinkled they'll be down the line, and at worst, it can look freakish.

    thats ursamajor, btw icon_smile.gif
im gonna try it out for a bit- its certainly cheaper lol

sigh... im so tired of those other forums- the same ones have been up all weekend... and they're not even interesting. it seems that the only way to make a thread popular these days is to start a flame war in it lol.

    so here:
screw catholics. they're too pale (?)

    discuss

My boyfriend is really pale. But I think it's kinda cute..

Though, sometimes I see pale guys and it looks like they're inches from death. So I suppose it's all about how you personally wear it.

Tan - but with moderation and plenty of moisturizer is my choice. I look and feel better with some sun.

It defiitely depends on the person. I think a guy with milky white skin can look good if he's not hairy and is nicely built. There's a guy on my hotlist like that.

Most people probably look their best with a slight tan.

The ones that look god awful are people who look like they've slathered themselves in cooking oil and laid out in the midday sun. The perpetually red and wrinkled look that is not too far off into their future is just sad

Aight, you gotta explain what you like about the painter of cherubim. Or maybe you like his decapitation fantasy?

Good question. It's because he's a MURDERER. I hate people who put Art and Painting and Literature and Words in Capital Letters. I hate old people who look at "conservative" "old masters" because they're "safe". So I like going up to them in galleries and saying "you do realise this was painted by a murderer?" and watching them squeal.

Safe comfortable conservative old idiots. Let them die.

    ;-)

lol what does all artistic ability and talent flee one's being when they commit a crime? i think most would agree that sins fuel the artist's complexity and force- vice is the artist's muse- the best artists. its too easy to paint heaven- too easy to paint hell... where the two meet is where things get interesting. and that is to be found in the human condition. murder can be a part of that- we aren't always pretty.

and i love moon tanning :p nothing more beautiful than a world bathed in silver

    Elitists! LOL

First time I heard of Caravaggio was after reading about him in Margaret Truman's Murder at the National Gallery. icon_redface.gif

I am familiar with some of his works from before though. icon_razz.gif The one with isaac and Abraham, St. Jerome, Bacchus, Medusa, etc. The perfect example of genius, insanity, and um... warped homosexual guilt and narcissism? icon_razz.gif

And shush OW. Abraham is innocent until proven guilty.

Biblically it's a ram, I believe Obscene, though I'd say I do like how it's extending it's neck over Isaac's head -- as if asking for the knife. Bye the way don't you have issues with angels and cherubim and all that stuff, or at least their wings?
