I've mentioned on another thread today that I'm easily amused.

    Proof positive.

And, Jas, we already saw your other post since, quickly, deleted, so you can come out now.

I'm a cuddler but never was into stuffed animals.

My sister, NOT a cuddler, who got a stuffed dog she named "Fireplace" because she was so young she confused it with "Fido," kept it in her marital bed through her forties. Fireplace isn't in a sealed display case yet but he's still hanging around tucked on a shelf.

    http://www.livescience.com/8737-grown-ups-security-blankets.html

"But research by Passman and others began to contradict that notion. One study published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology in 2000, for example, found that kids who had their beloved blankets with them at the doctor's office experienced less distress, as measured by blood pressure and heart rate. Apparently, security blankets really do live up to their name."

They did an experiment where experimenters swapped their stuffed toys for an identical one and the emotional ones tend to want to keep the original, despite them being identical. Have I heard that correctly? I am going to search for the article.

I had a stuffed animal frog as a kid, named "Froggy". I think I threw him out only 10 years ago.
