What is it about the age 30 that's so important to people? It's as if people believe a person changes entirely the second they go from 29 to 30.

It's the official " you are an adult now", mature and responsible.

At 30 you rapidly age and turn to dust like that guy in Indiana Jones who drank from the wrong cup.

    30 and older and you're a geezer. It's all downhill after 30.

I know plenty of 30 something's who you would guess are in their 20's

I don't think 30 is old if you don't make it.

    when I think of "geezer" I think of 70's 80's ect. icon_confused.gif

What denial? You have to age one way or another you might as well take care of yourself and make the most of it. I know people in their 30's or 40's who look better than some 20 year olds.

Age is what you make of it.

30 is the beginning of the end. For my 30th birthday I held a wake. Your life is basically over, it's all rapidly downhill, towards a miserable, lonely, sad, hopeless end.

Hmm. If we're going on appearances, one's 30s seem to be when the wheat is really separated from the chaff in terms of who is living a healthy lifestyle. I've seen many men post 30, 40, 50, and 60 who are stunning head-turners. Then there are those looking 20 years older...and not in a good way.

I am trying to get a handle on things, as I am sick of being mistaken for someone in his mid-30s and the look of shock when I mention that I'm actually 23. Looking at what happens to the men in my family, my past lack of success in my good years, and my "prospects" as a mostly bald ginger with 37" waist...I will need one hell of a reason to endure the next 45-50 years on my own.

No use in trying to act, dress and pretend you are still in your 20's when you are not .... it is obvious to the entire world except the man in the mirror ... that's why the old saying came about ... 'there's no fool like an old fool' .... grow old with dignity and act and be the age you are in, you are much for handsomer, good looking and respected for it. Age is not an embarrassment that you have to pretend to be 20 when you are not. It is a badge of honor, or at least it should be, where you know better and more than when you were 20.

Exactly. I hate it when people say something like I'm 60 years young. I'm old. I not only accept that I'm old but I'm happy and enjoying life as an old timer. Being old isn't a problem for me.

Learn to accept yourself as you are.

I never said people should act like there in their 20's, I just said that being 30's 40's isn't actually old.
